    Mike Strutter? is that you?
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

whats the worst than can happen, if it doesn't work out by the end of the season, he can fook off to anywhere he wants

I can't believe anyone would not want Mascherano at the club. He's 22 & has already played 21 times for Argentina. He played every game for them in the world Cup, in which Argentina looked as good as anyone. He's already a very good player with the potential to improve. If people don't want him at LFC then there's no pleasing them.

All this doesn't guarantee he'll succedd at LFC but you could say that about any player in the world. Every buy is a leap into the unknown to some extent but if he comes I can't wait to see him play.

If he'd never gone to West Ham & we were buying him everyone on here would be creaming themselves. Argentina are one of the top teams in the world & we are buying one of their very best young players. What more could you ask for.

              The worst?

Well he could be put straight into the team, Stevie G is pushed to the right hand side, he loses form, gets pissed off, we drop points moving out of the top 4, Stevie ****s off at the end of the season.

Unlkely, but a possible nightmare scenario.

A player to fill one of our problem areas not a player to fill an area we are already more than well stocked.
Maybe a right midfielder or a striker, or a decent left back.

It's possible that I'll win the lottery this weekend. It's fourteen million to one like, but it's possible.

If playing on the right pisses SG off, then he can **** off in my book.
He should be proud to play for LFC.

Central midfield isn't one of our problem areas, I agree, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't buy a player of Mascherano's undoubted class. When we bought Momo, central midfield wasn't a priority but nobody would argue that we shouldn't have bought him.

Also theres every chance Zenden could leave in the summer & then we'd need a replacement. As ever I'm sure Rafa's thinking well ahead into the future.

This isn't some Spanish journetman were buying here, this is an established Argentinian international player, still only 22 years old.

International football is meaningless when it comes to club football though, as we all know. He's a lot to prove in my opinion.

Sorry tomas but that is naive. Steven Gerrard is our best player for 20 years, no question about that, and one of our best players ever. If Rafa can't get the best out of him and playing effectively then that is pathetic man management skills in my book and brings into question his ability to manage the club.
