I posted a link somewhere in this thread. It was a link to a West Ham forum, where the ‘Ed’ had posted about Mascherano’s plight. They say it’s all tied in with the Hammers having to buy JM for £25m or summat daft if he makes a certain amount of appearances. Mascherano was deemed “the world class one of the two” when he signed with Tevez, and Tevez has no such clause. This was all organised on the basis Kia Joobi-whatshisname would successfully take over.Originally posted by kopdan View Postalright I was being a bit harsh
sorry
but still, there must be a reason he hasnt been picked. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

It was reported that West Ham would have had to pay an additional fee if Mascherano played any more games. With the number of options they have in midfield, they basically couldn't afford too.Originally posted by friedk View PostI have a sneaking suspicion it doesn't have much to do with footballThe Crushing Machine MKII

It sounds plausable.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI posted a link somewhere in this thread. It was a link to a West Ham forum, where the ‘Ed’ had posted about Mascherano’s plight. But, there is one reason why id raise my eyebrow at someone making that claim. Tevez IMO was rated higher than Mascherano before they both joined Westham. Well thats how I percieved the quality of both players anyway and I would have guessed many others too.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I personally think that West Ham got a bit ahead of themselves and when faced with a scrap for survival, couldn't rely on a cultured player to fight hard when it mattered.Originally posted by kopdan View Postalright I was being a bit harsh

It's like Kofi Anan trying to talk himself out of a Glasgow pissup fight.

Well I still remain to be convinced that this is a good deal for LFC. We'll see, he and Rafa could very well prove me wrong.
How many non-EU players do we have now? Gonzalez, Insua, Paletta, Mascherano. Any more?Originally posted by Gordon Brown

I have to say I think that this case could be true. I have never heard anything bad about him on a personal level (Clubbing all the time, bad attitude), the point being if there wasn't a clause like this in place would Mullins and Quashi play rather than I crap Mascherano? I don't think so.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI posted a link somewhere in this thread. It was a link to a West Ham forum, where the ‘Ed’ had posted about Mascherano’s plight. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Do you actually know what passports these players have, and also for how long will they remain non-EU players?Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostWell I still remain to be convinced that this is a good deal for LFC. We'll see, he and Rafa could very well prove me wrong.
