'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

Does anybody who the difference between why somebody like Ugo and others can and why Javier can't play for 3 teams?

        It's very confusing.

I think the Ehiogu one may be due to the fact he played in the Championship and they're exempt from the rule? Not entirely sure.

Anyway, FIFA are going to **** this right up, they have four days left to allow him to join us. I don't like our chances.

Fifa will end up screwing us, they'll ignore the 'case' until after the transfer window closes, by which point it'll be too late.

It's only because we are high profile and the player is as well, a lesser team or player and they wouldn't care less. We should have just signed him and hope no one would notice.

I thought he could join us but not play for us.

Do you think that the club are confident enough in their position, that if we have not rx'd a response before window shuts that we will gamble and bring him in and wait for the deal to be rubber stamped for him to play.

Also when is the registration point for the next CL phase, as now Niel is not joining JM would be our former UEFA Cup eligble player.

yes as far as i'm aware he can join but not play, just depends on the clubs stance on the matter. Doubt we'll complete the move if he can't play, in which case we'll prob mis out in the summer.

I believe that FIFA will allow him to play for us this season. They will just wait until the last day of the transfer window so it will look like they tried to stop him joining us.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

But it wouldn't look that way would it?

                      Mascherano

This was posted on a West Ham board last night. Dunno if it’s true or not...take it or leave it.

The Real Reason Mascherano Does Not Start For West Ham

Submitted by Neville Nixon on 28 January, 2007 - 22:49.

When Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano arrived at West Ham on the last day of the August transfer window the football world was astounded, how could £50 million worth of talent suddenly be at the disposal of the then manager Alan Pardew?

The deal that brought the two Argentine Internationals to the Boleyn was arranged as a sweetener for the impending take over of the club by the 'owner' of the players registrations, Kia Joorabchian. It was assumed that, as they arrived together, the players were both on a similar deal, however we have learned that Carlos Tevez's contract allowed him to play an unlimited amount of games for the Hammers without triggering any additional payment clauses, the contract for Mascherano was entirely different, as he was perceived to be the player out of the two who really was 'world class', the trigger clauses in his contract meant that if he played more than a handfull of games, West Ham would have to stump up the best part of £25 Million to retain his services.

Of course there has been a lot of water under the bridge sine those heady days of the summer, Joorabchian failed in his attempt to but the club and Eggert Magnusson did instead, Alan Pardew was sacked and the rest is history. Imagine how 'Masher' and Carlitos must have felt? Up somewhere bad without a paddle, imagine how much worse Masher must have felt when he realised the terms of the contract that brought him to the club? This situation is a great example of the ridiculous notion of a players registration NOT being owned by a club, the awful thing is that players values soar and fall at the drop of a hat and a once and future football icon has been deprived of showing what are probably the most perceptive bunch of footballing fans around the joy of seeing him ply his trade.

As with all ludicrous legal contracts, a third party will be the beneficiary of all the legalese, a bit like the poor soul who has his car taken by the bailiffs for an unpaid parking ticket that has run and run leaving him to fork out five times the value of his car just to get it back. - Ed

ive said all along its got something to do with Kia Joorawhatshisname and his failing to buy the club.

they were brought to the club under dodgy circumstances, and Mascherano is paying the price.

I really hope we can get him here, he is a superb player.

It’s been pretty ****ing obvious for a long time that the reason he’s not playing is nothing to do with football. What are the chances of both Pardew and THEN Curbishley not rating this class act? Load of bollocks, hope we sign him ASAP.

But given that West Ham are now spending money willy-nilly, wouldn´t they just stump up the cash instead of buying Bent for 14-17m.?

I could be wrong (probably am) but where a player has his contract cancelled or expires the FIFA rulw would not apply (Restraint of Trade). As we are looking at a loan deal, not permanent I doubt he would cancel his contract with West Ham.

I think the same thing happened when Defoe went to Spurs and Harewood went the other way
I make no apologies, this is me
