Zenden or Mascherano in midfield? No brainer - Mascherano could force his way into this side on a permanent basis. Fingers crossed we get the green light from FIFA.

Its a rule mate, its only a new one though.Originally posted by wildman View PostIts not a premiership rule its an agreement between the clubsBill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

surely the deal has already been struck...we are just waiting for FIFA to stamp it. Even if they take a week after the window has closed, technically it should still go through...cause the deal has been agreed for weeks."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

Surely he has to be registered before the deadline passes and that can only happen when the authorities approve the move...Originally posted by Harveybirdman View Postsurely the deal has already been struck...we are just waiting for FIFA to stamp it. Christ, this whole issue, along with the takeoever malarky, is getting boring now.

I wouldn't be surprised if he moves to us even if he can't play for us.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

That's the way I would see it, take him on loan anyway, as soon as Fifa give the clearance then he can play, until then he just trains with us.Originally posted by Harveybirdman View Postsurely the deal has already been struck...we are just waiting for FIFA to stamp it. but IMO it seems quite unfair that a club has agreed a deal for a player, and the only thing holding it up is red tape, yet they have taken over two weeks to make a decision."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

How do you keep SG,Xabi,Momo and Mascherano all happy. That`s a very impressive Central Midfield but you can`t keep 4 MFders happy.World class is not a term to throw around lightly but those 4 are close to world class.Originally posted by Taffy View PostI would be happy if we signed Mascherano!
He'd offer us the Didi role, and at 22 he could be a Red for many years if he proves to be successful.
Go get him Rafa - if FIFA let's you!!!

He will be good for our young Argentine players Insua and Paletta.Originally posted by DJS View PostRight, so signing him for the rest of the season and paying him wages during such a period when he cant actually play for us would be a fruitful exercise because.... ?Just believe and you never know what will happen.

Firstly, of the four, only SG is world class.Originally posted by Quinncy View PostHow do you keep SG,Xabi,Momo and Mascherano all happy. That`s a very impressive Central Midfield but you can`t keep 4 MFders happy.World class is not a term to throw around lightly but those 4 are close to world class.
Secondly, if we're talking long term, a club of our stature should easily be playing 60+ games a season.
When you consider the permutations of various CM combos, the games where we'd play 5 in midfield, and the odd games where Gerrard would play on the right (sorry folks, but it WILL happen again), then it becomes easily manageable IMO.
