I haven't seen one proper cogent argument put forward to counter Brendan's 'worst striker in last 20 years' point.

I tend to agree that hardly any spring to mind - Mind you how many full games to goal ratio has FSP got ?

Saunders is cut and dried, but you chose to ignore it.

I loved Rosenthal, for all his failings. My abiding memory of Ronny is him diving to win a penalty at Meadow Lane that won us the game. Boxing Day, if I remember rightly.

Saunders scored 25 goals in 60 games for a ****e Liverpool side.

Crouch has 10 in 45 in a great side.

You could make arguments about one bing a poacher, and the other a team player, target manblah blah blah. But why bother? They're both crap.

i love watching you bicker guys, ryan and brendan i suddenly remember why i left the free fourum and paid dunk to get to the gold club, just to get away, you have to dominate every descussion that you take part in and always have to add insult, i love a sensible debate but you it's not possible with you guys cause youre always right and every other person is wrong it's silly...

i will agree on one thing crouch is not the best goal scorer but he's a good player, he contributes alot to the team, and that is a valid point...

To be fair I haven't seen any "bickering" in this thread. It's been good.

To be fair we have generally had good strikers. However our best strike partnership in recent memory was Fowler and Collymore. With whom we won approximately **** all.

Crouch has helped us improve in a more competitive league than it was then.

He is possibly thhe least prolific striker we have had for a while, however he helped our team score a good number of goals last season.

I would also say that over a similar period of time Morientes contributed less on the pitch.

Without any shadow of a doubt. How did I forget him?

Agreed, I'd say Morientes performed worse than Crouch.

and if Crouch means we are going to win the league with Rafa's system, then who cares?

insult maby a bit to hard of a word, I just find it in some of youre responses youre lack of respect for other peoples opinion, not so much insult, but you responses are sometimes demeaning towards other people...

sorry i didn't mean to bring this up and start a fuss, the both of you are good posters in between but is just sometimes feel that you are to loud...

                              Bit of digging

In total, Meijer made 27 appearances for Liverpool. He didn't manage a league goal but his only two Liverpool goals came in the 5-1 Worthington Cup victory over Hull City at Boothferry Park in 1999.

I don't know about worst, but these strikers have pretty shocking records also !

On last years form I'd take Crouchie over Nando, while in the more distant past Nigel Clough wasn't exactly a raging sucess 7 in 39 appearances.
Not a penny more Fat Dunk.
