Obviously as fans, we don't know all the facts and are left to suffer depression due to no knowledge. We'll have to wait and see as usual.

One thing with the Gillett thing though, I doubt that Moores would get to stay on in his honorary capacity either, which was another thing that seemed to make the DIC bid seem ideal.

Head is wrecked now, don't know what to think.

He wants a fast buck ffs he can **** off. If it was Kraft I would be happy.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Moores can't convince the board to back him in this buy-out it tells you all you need to know about how appropriate DIC's bid was. Secondly, it may well be the case that there is a better deal out there that the board feels is more in the interest of the club.

While it's not good to see that things aren't going to be concluded this month, it's not worth rushing in to a deal with anyone if it's not the right deal.
The thing that concerns me is it seems that Granada is the main stumbling Block. They want the offer that gives them more money. Yet they were willing to accept Morgan's (undervalued) offer a few years ago

That's just your guess based on rumour. Why do you think DIC wanted to take us over? So they could make a loss?

The scum went nuts when that double glazer came in.

              Now? Not a whisper.

              Everything happens for a reason.

There's another point of view which says they're never to be trusted. Probably depends which era you were born in.

Personally I just want some new players, a new Stadium, the EPL and the Champions League. That's all. It doesn't matter to me if we're owned by Donald bleeding Duck.

No DIC were in it for the long term, look at the horse racing. Gillett wants money plain and simple.

El Diego, trust me, if DIC were offered treble their money 2 weeks after they'd taken over, they'd have accepted it.

Money talks and bull**** walks, DIC have walked.

We'll have to wait and see to be honest.

I have a few questions and thoughts:

Now I know very little about corporate takeover **** so feel free to correct me/take the piss.

Firstly there are a lot of assumptions being made on here about the DIC bid. Truth is we know virtually nothing about the details of it. Yeah it sounded great, they made all the right noises and such, but at no point did I hear we’ll give Rafa this, we’ll keep ticket prices reasonable and so forth. We must remember that they were attempting to buy the club to make money.

It's the same with the Yanks bid. But most people seem to have something against him with no evidence as too why. Admittedly there were superficial concerns from the outside looking in; Groundsharing and his worrying track record of buying sport franchises and selling them soon after, even though this was years ago. The Groundshare concern seems to be just a rumour.

Also after spending millions on legal fees and DD, the first knock back they get and DIC **** off. Makes you wonder.

Surely they could've forwarded their offer to smaller minority shareholders and just tested the water? I'm not sure what percentage of the club the other board members have, but surely the DIC could reach the 75% required without them, or is that not the case?

It’s a remarkable turn of events, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they returned after further consideration.

What about the unissued shares?, and Granda, did they even receive an offer from DIC?

And then there’s Steve Morgan, what’s his angle?

In no way do I blame Parry and Moores for taking more time and considering the Americans offer. Moores is acting in the best interest of the club, while at the same time hoping to get a good deal for himself. It appears that the DIC satisfied his requirements. But if Gilettes offer better on both counts?

Too many people jumping to conclusions. The club HAVE to get this right.

Small point to CharlieManson, Gillet was in favour of exploring the Groundshare option initially,it wasn't just a rumour, he may have re-thought this position recently though.
