Thanjk you.

2 million for a player widely ridiculed by Liverpool supporters...a masterstroke by Rick Parry in my opinion...
So, where are the Parry critics now??
It's not a masterstroke at all. I'm not really a Parry critic, so I don't want to be seen as getting on his case here.
£2m is roughly Traore's true market value. Had he not failed his medical, Robert Huth would've signed for Middlesbrough for around £5m FFS.
I know we joke at his expense but he's a decent player when all's said and done. Not good enough for us, of course, but he'll do a job for Charlton and he won't be the worst defender in the Premiership by any stretch of the imagination.
Traore has put in enough decent, committed performances for us (amongst the shockers) to command that little bit of respect, IMO. £2m is spot on.
Good bye Traore, hope you have a successful career ahead.

iactually think he was the worse signing under Ged apart from diouf.
Although a few players were worse players ie diao. Bambi has cost us time and time again and has been a liabilty from day one. At least cheyrou, ferri, diao never had many games.
The worst signing GED made imo. The lad was so mistake prone it's unbelievable.
He made the odd good tackle here and there but overall nowhere close to LFC calibre.
To get 2£ m for him in todays market is laughable but ain't complaining cos it's money coming in to LFC.
I think you're being abit harsh in saying he was ged's worst signing, he wasn't great but he did do a job for us

You may be right. £2m could have been Traore's "true market value".
But BEFORE the news came in, many fans would have only dreamed of us getting 2 million pounds for Traore. Apparently, the best we could hope for was a loan deal that would at least take the burden of paying his wages. This wasn't just my opinion, I think.
You've given an example of Robert Huth, but I could also give many examples of players who have moved well under the "true market value".
I think the question is how much of it do you attribute to inflated "market value" or the negotiating abilities of our Chief Executive...
I like to give it to our Chief Executive on this one...

Is it just me, or do LFc supporters not show Traroe enough respect? Despite his little foibles, he was a good defender, and made some jaw dropping interventions in the CL winning season.
I always supported him - he never whined about being left out of the team and never complained about getting enough first team oppurtunities - he always gave 100%, even though that didn't quite hit the mark sometimes.
I wish him well at Charlton and wherever he goes on from there.
agree

+ I'd say that the worst GED's signing was Ferri! He played like '1 minute' for Liverpool. I never really heard about this bloke until I read Fowler's biography

Yes u are right. Duff at £5M and Crespo for free. Generally when a player moves from a bigger club to a smaller one, the transfer fee will go well below market value.
Selling Traore for £2M is a good piece of business by the club.

Bernard Diomede, Diao, Diouf, Cheyrou are all incredibily awful signings by GH and around £23M in transfer fund wasted.

Very Harsh. Considering we paid 550k for him and sold him after 7 years for 2 million. Djimi is not the most talented player, but he always gives 110%. He did a Good job for us. He was as much a part of us winning Big ears, than anyone. Have you forgotten his Goal line clearances during that game?
Now contrast that with Diao who we paid 4.7 million for and cant give away. I'd say Djimi is far from the worst buy Ged made,
You are very lucky I cant 1 ball you AJ
