I don't understand why though? Liverpool have never named out targets what advantage is there to naming who you want to sign in the press and p!ssing off the selling club?

this may be FM2007 talking, but i can unsettle players. Then they can tell the club they would like to leave.

Its probably all utter bollocks....but you never know really. Someimes Rafa is very honest, sometimes he is coy.

I remember seeing an interview with him about a year ago saying he would never lie to the fans. If you notice when a jorno asks him a question about a player we've been linked with he either gives a firm 'No' or makes some excuse about only talking about the next game or already having cover in those positions.

I tend to think that's Rafa's way of not telling porkies to the fans and he is interested in some way.

Similar to him talking about Crouch but saying "i also like rooney, ashton, bent"

I bet the moment you said that, he smashed one in in training at Juve.

Coz he always ****ing does it to me. Slag him off, he'll score.

And for that I hate him.

Two of his goals stand out to me.

The decisive one in Euro 2000 - a great volley.

And the rocket he thumped in at Old Toilet when playing for Monaco.

                    Both top class goals.

I guess most people remember those.

                      Yep.

I think he's ****. His goalscoring record is bafflingly phenomenal, but in this instance I reject his record out of hand - he's ****.

We had this last summer lol, I'm not going back down the route of arguing with Shaggy about it all over again

Trez does a lot of good work off the ball and provides the end product time after time. Is that not something we need? We've got plenty of strikers who are slower but brilliant at retaining possession and playing others in etc. We need more, be it a player who can beat people with individual skill like Torres or a player with pace and clinical finishing like Villa/Trez.

Whenever I watch Trezeguet, he loses possession all the time, is terribly slack off the ball and, more to the point, misses stacks of chances.

Then I start calling him, and invariably....yes, he pops up with a goal.

I suppose you'd have to say his movement must be good for him to squander so many chances, and indeed have such a good goalscoring record.

We do need a prolific goalscorer and his record would suggest he is exactly that...which is bizarre - a prolific goalscorer who leaves so very many people totally underwhelmed.

For the record Amauri is having a solid season but he is injured at the moment. He could well be a one season hit wonder though.
Bojinov went to Fiorentina, kicked up a fuss cos he could not start many games & now he is at Juve in Serie B. Good young player but very temperemental.
Iaquinta & Trez are over the hill, nuff said. Next.

His goalscoring record does suggets he's better than he really is, I'd agree that much. But he's still be a quality addition for us, and improve our first team significantly. Not as much as Villa would mind...
