Frankly, Robbie Fowler's bath-time escapades are of no consequence here, and I'm quite disappointed that Steve Nicol sees fit to indulge in tabloid tittle-tattle.

I'm still pinching myself that he actually came back!

For fans of my generation (I was 21 the other day) Robbie Fowler is our absolute hero.

I just have to thank Rafa for getting him back in a Red shirt for 18 months. He scored the goals last season that took us to within one point of second place, and has done well whenever he's been called upon this season.

Whether he stays beyond the summer or not (I think he won't) it was a great piece of business by Rafa that was dismissed as sentimentality by many at first, but has proved to be perfect.

I just wish he could get one more big winning goal in a massive game. Man Utd up on Saturday God, you up for it?
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

My son Foster is a fan of soccer. He was a goaltender. His brother was a defenseman.

That said, Robbie simply cant play week in week out at the highest level anymore, and he hasnt been the same since the awful knee injuries a few years back. The god given talent that he has for scoring will never leave him, whatever level he plays at, 183 goals in 363 games says it all for me. I dont believe Rafa will show any sentiment in regards to a new contract and Robbie will move on next season. I would love for the club to find a role for him perhaps in a coaching capacity, although that may be a few years away. Fact is that the club has to look forward, not back, legends have come and gone before and they will do again, but his last game will be an emotional moment for those of us privileged enough to have seen him play.

I think Robbie Fowler would make a good striker coach. He got superb technique, no-one can fault that, he can teach runs and anticipating passes and defensive errors and a man who has made a lot of mistakes has a lot of wisdom to pass on.

Having said all that, I'd be amazed if Rafa kept him on as a coach, I think Rafa has a bit of an ego when it comes to coaching and likes to do the lion's share himself.

Sky news has it saying that Fowler is on his way after sorting talks out with New England Revolution on the ticker and on the Sky sports site says

"New England Revolution coach Steve Nicol has confirmed that he has held talks with veteran Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler about a potential move to Major League Soccer."
Id rather bleed with cuts of love then live without any scars

I think ive seen every minute he has played this season live, (except Gala away) and i used to see him in the nineties too, I can only say "thanks for the memories robbie" and "retire now" Im afriad. I would rather remember him for the incredible striker he once was than how he is now. I am always excited when he comes on when games are won but if he starts i know he is incapable of the workload our other strikers give us. He looks like the old robbie in slo-mo. I am glad he came back as there was unfinished business as we never said goodbye properly, hopefully this time we will.

I beg to differ, the vast majority of Robbies play is totally natural and off-the-cuff, he doesnt have to think about what runs he makes etc, he doesnt have to, hes just a natural poacher.

To try and teach that to others when youve never been taught it yourself must be the most frustrating thing on earth and i dont see him being too successful at it.
If my memory is correct, Rushie came back to do a bit of striker coaching for Ged didnt he, and he didnt exactly set the world on fire.

Mind you he was trying to coach Heskey so i may be being a little harsh.

I'm ****ing fed up of watching Kuyt, Crouch and Bellamy miss chance after chance after chance.

Kuyt has 10 goals this season, Bellamy has 9.....that's utter ****e. Fowler has 7 from infinitely less time on the pitch.

I'd play Fowler on Tuesday night.

                        Nah, mate.
                        Not from the start.
But I would use him as a sub if needed.

You have to ask yourself: would Fowler have missed the chances the others had today?
Yes yes, he might still have been huffing and puffing around the half way line to get forward, but still, if he had those chances, would he?

Yeah, I know, he'll never start on Tuesday, but he should def be on the bench.
