Well, I think it should be policy not to sell any of our top players to Chelsea regardless of money. I know that's an idealistic view, but I'd like to think that we could take a stance on this. Of course, if Rafa doesn't rate the player, or they don't want to play for LFC, then fair enough, but I doubt Riise fits into either category. As was mentioned in other replies to this post, he was part of a very solid regular back four last season, so if it ain't broke...

Riise to the Chavs?

Riise to the Chavs = A sneaky ploy by Maureen to unsettle our defence before Sunday comes.
Can anyone really see Rockets playing for the chavs? nah, neither do I. He's part of the furniture now at Liverpool and ok he had a bit of a mare last night but considering he was part of a record breaking defence last year, i reckon most are willing to forgive him this once.
I think if i was Rafa i would tell them they can shove their dirty rubles up Maureens **** pipe. That's my new book. 'Shut the **** Up, by Dr. Denis Leary'. Patients come in. 'Doctor I-' Shut the **** up! NEXT!! 'Doctor, I've got this-' SHUT THE **** UP!! NEXT! 'He made me feel so much better. He just told me to shut the **** up. Nobody ever told me that before!'

Our defence had alot more clean sheets when he did play last season, Riise is a good player and although yes he is expendible I would hate to see him sign for the chavs or even to leave he has plenty of usesOriginally posted by mark1975I think people are being harsh on Riise, he massively improved last season and our back four only looked so comfortable when all four were in it, and that includes Riise.
So he had a sh*t game last night? So what? He performed to a high level for well over 90% of the games he played in last season and seems to improve each season (particularly under Rafa). He might be very one footed and prone to the occasional hoof, but he's also pretty much the only goal threat we have in defence. Chelsea bagged 17 goals from defence alone last season, losing Riise would be more of a setback than people are think.

I presume the word you were going for is 'laughable'.Originally posted by Charlie_BCarlos has signed a new deal with Madrid.
I don't believe this Riise bollocks for a second. He's a lughable lef-back really. Chelsea's weaklink is LB, their aim is to strengthen that position not weaken it.
He's far from that. Johnny Riise is a very good left-back, and one we should be very happy to have in our side.
Some people have no clue.

Are you a clown? Do you have an amusing collapsable car and a squirty flower?
If Riise was such a wek spot at LB last season, HOW COME SO FEW OF THE WORLD'S LEADING COACHES FOUND A WAY TO EXPLOIT IT?
Last time I checked we had a fabulous defensive record last season.
He was in that defence.
HONK HONK!
