Thanjk you.

Name me two occassions in the last year when Johnny 'Slow and positionally poor' Riise's ineptitude has led to us conceeding a goal...
It is true that Riise was part of a fantastic defence last season. It's also true that every time he was absent, we looked vulnerable. However, when you look at the alternatives we had available to us, it's no surprise that Johnny Rockets was head and shoulders above the rest. He's an excellent defender whilst the others are nothing more than average.
It's all hypothetical I know but would you accept a £10m bid for him if it materialised? I know I would.
"I never think of the future. It comes soon enough."

hes a top quality left back mate in my opinion, i understand yours but how you can say he is laughable i dont know, dont see how having your opinion makes you a clown though
HONK HONK
Paul,it was charlie who said he was laughable !! and no that handshake didnt conceal a buzzer. i aint no clown
I presume the word you were going for is 'laughable'.
He's far from that. Johnny Riise is a very good left-back, and one we should be very happy to have in our side.
Some people have no clue.
Yes, laughable. Well done.
Very good left-back? Is it his worldclass positioning that sways your vote? His ability in the air or his tackling?
He's a decent left-back, but not in the long-term future of our defence. Yes, we did well with him in the side, but as a defender he's hardly exceptional. The succcess of our defence last season was more to do with the tactics and system, and the central pairing rather than Riise. A good squad player he is, but not an XI player.
Question: In the majority of our meetings with Chelsea, Riise hasn't played them at LB. Why?

Cant believe some of the idiots who are slagging off one 5th of our excellent defence from last season, and our only goal threat from the back.
CHELSEA SCORED 17 GOALS FROM DEFENCE LAST SEASON! Let's give up Riise eh so we can fall further behind. Oh silly me, Aurelio is a far better defender and will score more goals, bein Brazilian'n'all.
Everytime Riise played we kept our shape at the back, everytime Warnock or Traore played, Hyypia was dragged out wide and it left holes at the back. It's a no brainer REALLY. Oh.
So he had a poor game the other night? He wasnt the only one, and he was up against the quickest player on the pitch, while clearly lacking match sharpness. The fact he's even mentioned in the same breath as the Chavs suggests that his standing in the game has come on even more so.
He's a quality left back, most teams would be happy to have him.
Oh dear. You've thought this one through all right.
1) We've only won two of our past ten meetings with Chelsea.
2) Riise has scored TWO of the very few goals that we have managed to score against them.
He's right, Riise hasnt played left back much against them, and we've suffered for it. Warnock had a mare at the Bridge and the Wheely Bin had a mare at Anfield.

Well said Mark, no one can really continue to argue this anymore.
