I do agree with you about him not being "clinical" enough but to be fair to him VDS pulled off what looked to me like a good save. I thought that it was in the minute it left his foot. What dissapointed me more though was that nobody followed the ball in and had a stab at the rebound.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

[QUOTE=CharlieMansonsSquint;322584]and there it is. i really like our attackers but we need to create more and finish a higher percentage of chances we do create. so that means new ones if these can't rise to it often enough.Originally posted by Red_Al_77 View PostFrankly the game was there to be won and we do not have that cutting edge.QUOTE]
Frankly speaking we just don't have good enough attackers.
Bellamy, Kuyt, Crouch, Pennant, Gonzalez decent to good players all, but they don't scare anyone, maybe Bellamy with his pace but his end product today was lacking.
and probably why we'll be linked to every attacker under the sun in the next few months"At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don't come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques"

If we scored half our chances this season we would be right up there but unfortunately we always seem to need 10 shots to score 1.
We need a couple of players who given even as much as a sight at goal work the keeper and have opposition defences in a panic.
The filth were still very jammy today and scored their only shot of the second half. We need to be a bit more like that.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

Yet they dominated the midfield. Rafa got it right.Originally posted by carheex View PostSissoko was the biggest mystery today. Not only did he look like a pub footballer but he seemed to be playing really far up the pitch in an attacking role. Sissoko's strengths are in tackling, simple passing (usually!) and interceptions. Alonso's are creative passing and shooting - they were playing in each other's positions and it was obvious!Another MASSIVE game

Hindsight's a wonderful thing but Bellamy should of have played the full 90, along with Carragher he was our best player."Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Our best player who fluffed a one-on-one with the keeper thanks to bad ball-control and also flashed a poor ball across the goal when it would have been easier to find Kuyt and give him a simple tap in.Originally posted by Marky19 View PostHindsight's a wonderful thing but Bellamy should of have played the full 90, along with Carragher he was our best player.
Bellamy was dangerous but not completely infallible. In fact given the positions he got in I thought he was quite wasteful.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

Fair enough he could have played a better ball to Kuyt but as Gray said in commentary maybe he thought that was the only place he could deliver
the ball?
Bellamy was a threat throughout, he tore Vidic and Evra apart throughout, he was sharp, lively and inventive from the start.
Unlucky not to get himself a goal."Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

Granted, i agree with you that he was our biggest threat, far more threatening than Kuyt, but against teams like United we dont have that clinical efficiency to take just one or two chances of those we create in the same way that those teams do. In this game we created 5-6 good chances and took none, including Bellamy. If you take this match, the one we lost at Stamford Bridge this season and the one at Old Trafford last season with Ferdinand's last minute goal, I bet the opposition in those three matches combined didn't create as many chances as we had today, yet we lost all of those games, because we dont have the clinical finishers they do.Originally posted by Marky19 View PostSTRIKER IN MISSING A CHANCE SHOCKER

Bellamy was a threat today, but I dont blame Rafa for taking him off because he was getting into positions, but was missing chances.
I long for the days of Owen circa 2001-2002 when we would create one chance a game but Owen would invariably take it.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

Surely his heading is not so bad that he is going to go for it with his nose as opposed to his forehead?Originally posted by johnly View PostIf you had your faced smashed in, would you go heading a football thats coming at you at high speed?

I can only think of one chance which Bellamy had and he did well to get a shot off after a poor first touch.Originally posted by Dhavlos View PostBellamy was a threat today, but I dont blame Rafa for taking him off because he was getting into positions, but was missing chances.
You're being a bit harsh on Bellers today I think, mate.

You're probably right mate. That poor touch you talk about probably cost us the game though. And it was a poor cross for Kuyt.Originally posted by Los Rojos View PostI can only think of one chance which Bellamy had and he did well to get a shot off after a poor first touch.

Fair dues to the lad though, he scored today. Offside or not, there is no way that linesman could have seen for certain that it was offside, so he shouldn't have given it
That tosser Andy Gray was saying the linesman made a great decision - bull****. He may have made the correct decision, but there is no way he could have seen the offside and therefore make a great decision based on what he saw. He took a guess based on seeing Bellamy being in an offside position when he received the ball.White liquid in a bottle = Milk
