In which case having at least 1 decent winger would certainly help. I think Gonzo will come good but I don't rate Pennant although Stevie does a good job over there. For me it would be a world class striker and a good left winger and we would be a far better team.

Im aware of that, but unfortunately giggs and ronaldo are better than pennant and gonzalez and however much kuyt tries hes not as good as wayne rooney. I never mentioned saha because i dont think hes any better than the players we already have. Its not nice to admit but facts are facts and that was what i felt the article was about - however many stats you find they dont always tell the whole story.

I think the entire article is spot on.
Rafa's tactics can only get us so far, we need world class additions to compete properly for the title. especially in the advanced areas of the pitch, we have alot of very good players, but few world class ones.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

        * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

              Nah... the article is.

"Local boy tells it like it is." - wow! I really identify with him!

              Whatever.

Then follow it up with a load of **** about how we need world class players. NO ****ING ****.

Yeah, it is really a non-story.

Its just a reminder really. Its nothing really new to any of us, but more of a wakeup call, or a message to the new owners to back the manager.

the timing of this seems off

                    right before the barca game

we all know some of the players arent good enough, why say it before the biggest game of the season?

Doesn't matter when it's said really. They aren't gonna be any better just cause we've got a big game

I just hope Gonzalez gets a to play nearly every game from now till the end of the season, he just looks a bit short of confidence at the moment and i believe he can become a wonderful player for us he is still very young after all.

But obviously i agree with the generall concensus that our play in the final third lacks invention.

Agreed on Gonzalez. His confidence is low, so he always chooses the easy option of a square pass. No runs and trickery to get to the byline.
I think he has something in him, he has been a bit unlucky with injuries mind.

Stupid quote from Carra, he should know better.

In his defence he had a monster game on Saturday only to come out on the losing team, he was obviously not in the right frame of mind when he said this. True yes, did it prove anything NO.

i would love him to come good but he hasn't shown any glimpses really and looks lightweight. he may come good like pires did for arsenal in his 2nd season!

Hence the reason i want him to play the rest of the season Tomas, hopefully he will kick on. I like him.
