    Bellamy to Villa?

EXCLUSIVE: BENITEZ WILL ACCEPT VILLA'S SUMMER BID FOR BELLAMY
    By John Cross 10/03/2007

ASTON VILLA boss Martin O'Neill has been told he can sign Liverpool's bad boy striker Craig Bellamy this summer.

O'Neill made an enquiry for Bellamy during the January transfer window and Liverpool insisted he was not for sale - but Villa were told to come back at the end of the season.

It shows that Bellamy could be on his way out of Anfield in the summer after just one roller-coaster season following his £6million move to Liverpool from Blackburn.

Bellamy is playing for his Anfield future after his golf club bust-up with teammate John Arne Riise and boss Rafa Benitez may be ready to offload him at the end of the season.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I for one hope he doesn't go. He's had a shaky start for us, but since his court case finsihed, he's been a different player. In terms of effort, goals and team work he has been at least, the equal of Kuyt, who seems to almost be above criticism. over the past few week Belleamy has been our best striker and overall one of our best players.

to be honest I see him as the most expendable striker we have (appart from fowler who will prob go anyway). If you have a pacy frontman, then he's the player you need to be scoring the goals. Kuyt is great as a support striker, and Crouch is good for his height and holding up the ball, but Bellamy is really the focal point and we need that player to be getting 20 goals a season, and unfortunately bellers prob never will.

it will be a tough task but i think Rafa is capable of finding someone to follow in the footsteps of bellers proflic career at anfield

Wish we could roll all three into one player really. But i do hope he stays, he's been very decent for us and netted some goals along the way.

like all the others have been prolific this season!

I think all our strikers bar Kuyt are vulnerable. Kuyt is clearly Rafa's no.1 choice. Bellamy's copybook will have been blotted by the golf club incident whilst Crouch seems down the pecking order. Personally, I'd keep Crouch & sell Kuyt but Rafa obviously has other ideas. Bellamy to villa wouldn't surprise me in the least. He played for MON at Celtic at if he does get booted out of LFC, villa's as about as good a club as he can hope for.

We haven't had a manager sign a prolific striker since Evans signed Collymore. Rafa needs to get it right this summer.

yeah agreed, take note of it being a british transfer record though, we will need to do something similar it seems to sign another.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
