Cisse? Martins? Yakubu? None of those 3 are good enough for Liverpool FC. All 3 are good players in their own right, but none are the world class striker I think we all agree we need.

Who will Rafa go for? Who knows, but its well known that when he came to LFC Rafa was interested in taking Etoo when we lost Owen to Real and he was also interested in Villa who turned us down in favour of Valencia. So it stands to reason that if either became available there would be a strong possibility of us being interested.

Both are strikers I would put in the top bracket of players but then so was Shevchenco as already pointed out in this thread. Morientes is also a top striker who flopped big time.

I would still take either, as well as Torres. Is he overrrated? Well most players are, but he out shone Villa in Germany 06 and is captain of a top club in Spain, so he cant be that bad can he? He is also still very young.

Say what you like about Trezeguet, but he scores goals at every level he plays at, International and club level. Seria A is noted as being a difficult league to score in, but he always found the back of the net.

Huntelaar in another mentioned on a daily basis, he looks like a top finisher, but so did Kezman and Kuyt from that league. Kezman was a disaster and Kuyt is now described as work man like by most fans, despite the fact he has 9 premiership goals so far in his first season in English footy..........

This leads us onto the English candidates, Bent, Ashton and Defoe. All are settled in England and know the premiership, with an added bonus of actually being British (English in fact!). All are seen by many as the answer to our prayers, but are they better than Crouch and Bellamy? Both Crouch and Bellamy had comparable records goals wise with the others before they came to LFC and were excellent players for their clubs.

Defoe is not even cosidered good enough to start for Spurs so maybe we should rule him out........ Swap for Cisse anyone? Ashton seems to be the next great CF for England and would be worth a pop, looks to me to be a potentially far better player than Berbatov, who is a similar player.

In truth, Ive no idea who will solve our problems, I only know Id be happy with 2 from Henry, Villa, Torres, Etoo, Ashton and Bent. The others around just dont cut it Im afraid.
