the only worries i have if this is true, especially if it is as told a firm from texas who's going to design it, that it will be to american like NFL stadiums, where comfort and space are the two biggest factors, grounds are extremely open and far from the pitch. 70.000 sounds right but it needs to be tight and compact and loud, not oval and open...

        Yep.

There's no guarantee that a 'new' design would be a 'better' design.

What we all want is one massive steep, daunting single tier Kop, all the stands very tight to the pitch and an overall unique design, without resorting to flashing advertising and big screen TV's.

I fear that we could be left very disappointed though.

        Fingers crossed.

I think this is great news if it is true. We must get this new stadium spot on and the plans I saw for the proposed one were quite honestly pretty bland and uninspiring.

70,000 capacity and a design more initimidating like the Bombonera would be 'awesome' as ou new owners mights say. I am starting to really like these new folk.

Not sure we'd fill 70,000 regularly though.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

No doubt the new firm will have a very detailed brief and I would not be surprised if they were in attendance at the Barca game with Hicks and Gillett.

With the right ticket prices we will be near on capacity in most games IMO.

Depends on circumstances, how well we're doing at the time, pricing for certain games etc etc

Our fanbase if not big enough already is just growing and growing all the time though thats for sure

30,000 on the season ticket waiting list.

For league games and Champions league game, I dont think we would have any problem at all.

The domestic Cups might be tricky, but we could just slash prices, £10 entry for U18's etc...

One of the main reasons Hicks was brought in was for his expertise in Stadium building was it not? If that's the case it would not be unreasonable to think that he wants more input into the Stadium that he's about to build.

Assuming this info is correct, how long do we think this will set us back then ?

The new stadium was supposed to open in two seasons time, I think we could at least a year onto that, probably more...

                            Me neither.

If anyone has seen the Emirates when the arse are playing lesser team you'll know why shaggy has concerns. it's always about 3-4,000 short in capacity.

About 4 or 5 years I would have thought it would take to complete if these reports are true.
