Why did the architect designing the stadium change his tune at the start of the Monday he said that both ends of he ground would be the same and when pressed he stated that the club had made no contact with him over the building of a single tiered Kop. Then by the end of the day he states that there will now in fact be one huge 22,000 single tiered Kop at the same time saying that the designs being displayed are more or less the final designs well those designs as it stood then the two ends behind the goal have a capacity of 13,221. So unless the seats behind the goal are like armchairs and they can make them smaller and fit an extra 8,779 then the architect was talking ****.

The reason I mention this though is because the club must have known the architect was either lying or misinformed (how an architect can be misinformed about his own design though...) but they didn't do anything to correct the architect the upshot being that alot of people believe we will have a huge 22,000 single tiered Kop when we just won't.

PS to anyone who believes the new ground as it stands now will be unique it shares a lot of design features with the Emirates and even more at least from the inside with the city of manchester stadium the only difference being the colour of the seats and also the two ends behind the goals are smaller they don't go as far back. But the real similarity is to Sporting Lisbon's ground have a look at that. The architect got a bit wound up when someone compared new anfield to the Emirates, but agreed that the New Liverpool ground was just a slightly bigger version of Sportings ground.

Trousers, what was the name of the architect you met from AFL? I probably know him. The Director involved with the project is called Garry Rowlands who is from St Helens but based in Manchester and I've openly heard him slagging off scousers...

The things you describe above confirm the information I heard on Saturday that the new board at LFC have become disillusioned with both the new stadium design (see my earlier comments which mirror yours) and particularly the architects. The design we have seen for the past few years wouldn't be "the best stadium in the world" but just another identikit ground like many others.

It appears that HKS, an international practice based in Dallas, have bought a firm in London (I'm trying to find out who) just to manage this project.

As soon as I hear anymore I'll pass it on in good faith as always so please don't shoot the messenger...
