Although another Manc I think Mark Hughes has been a relatively successful manager considering where he has managed, the only downside (apart from being a Manc) being that his team are a little physical but based on the resources he has he has done a good job.

Possibly with more funds or a better club he could impose a good playing style, which he shows signs of with players such as Bentley, McCarthy, Dunn and Pedersen.

I think that he and Steve Coppell are the best managers outside the top 4 right now

I cant see it. I dont think a period with England does anyone any favours. You could argue that Hoddle, Keegan, Vegitables and Sven all did well with England, qualified for tournaments and did ok, yet they wouldnt be employed by a top 4 club. The only way Fat Sam would get to manage a top 4 club would be if his team broke into the top 4 or at least challenged for honours.

Keegan was a disaster.
Venables was too dodgy with his business deals, and was fast losing the appetite to be a manager. Hed already reached the peaks with Barca and England.
Hoddles comments about disabled people ruined him. He would have stayed on as England manager if it werent for those comments.
Ericsson looked good and had Chelsea sniffing, but he stayed on too long and was shown up for what he was - A souless manager with no plan B.

Win a major championship with England and the worlds your oyster........ FFS success with a team like Brazil has everyone saying how great a manager they are!

In the early months of 2005-06, Allardyce once again took Bolton into the top half of the Premiership and also steered them into the knockout rounds of the UEFA Cup. Bolton eventually finished eighth that season.

In the 60s & early 70s, we stood side-by-side with the BS & the scum, walked to the matches together, just wanting to watch football, it really didn't matter where you were standing inside the ground, no-one cared which team you supported, footy was the main spectacle.

i was a teenager i remember going to most of the derbies in the mid-late eighties and always remember standing with BS and there being good banter. spexially on the kop it was that bloody crammed u didnt have a choice but to be friendly to who you were next to!! there was a few crowd spillages on the pitch i seem to recall to! used to love that.......give Fat Nev some right stick

I can't remember Notts Co actually winning the title. Unless your "title" is
one of the ****ty lower league like the Bob the Builder Diadorra league or some **** like that.
You only win the title if you are champions of your national league, not 4th division winners.

If he was a great manager he'd have managed to win a cup or something by now, he's been there long enough.

Even Steve McLaren's won the league cup and his career is a lot shorter than the Fat one's.
