What exactly has the lad done wrong?
Besides not being able to head a ball properly, not a lot. He's been really good for us generally I reckon.

same here, nightmare signing is ridiculously harsh.

So he's not great in the air, just because he's tall everyone expects him to be great in the air. It's a skill, just like everything else it needs to be practised and some people are more naturally talented at heading a ball than others. Keegan being a prime example of someone more talented than others in the air.

It's nothing to do with being good in the air. He's fine at knockdowns and actually getting his head to the ball, he's just rubbish at getting any power or direction on his headers when he's having an attempt on goal. Anyone who refers to Crouch as a nightmare signing is a ****ing clown shoe though. He's far from a bad signing.

            .
I meant a nightmare signing when he initially joined - maybe 'nightmare' is a strong word but you know what I mean - he wasn't exactly what we were expecting having been crowned European Champions - and as for Bolo....

Hey, Heskey had his moments. He was a monster in the treble season, up until he signed a contract to wear Adidas Clown Shoes.

Apart from the Treble season he was total crap though. For 11£ m he was a flop.

Heskey was a poor buy, end of. £11m for a player with the mental strength of a wet lettuce. Pace, power, good in the air - Heskey has all these attributes, pity he never used them.

If you think Heskey was crap you should have a look at some of our current crop.

Spot on. I went to watch Wigan play Newcastle recently at the JJB stadium (the Junior side I coach had their annual trip to watch a Premiership game) and was interested to see how 'Ivanhoe' was getting on.

True to form, he didn't fancy it and limped off after 15 minutes with what looked a potential career threatening limp. Also true to form, I noted that he was fit and raring to go in Wigan's next game a few days later.
