Rafa Benitez is reportedly set to make a move to sign Chelsea's out-of-favour star Geremi, who is out of contract in the summer.

The versatile Cameroon international is only on the fringes of the squad at Stamford Bridge and is not set to be offered a new deal by boss Jose Mourinho.

It is thought that several Premiership clubs are tracking the 28-year old, who joined the Blues for £7million in the summer of 2003, but Benitez appears to be the most eager to secure the player's signature.

Geremi would bring experience to the Reds squad, having previously played for both Real Madrid and Middlesbrough.

He does, but we have enough cover, its time to use the money we have to buy QUALITY Fair enough if hes on a free like Voronin though.

He is IMO far better and more versatile then Zenden.

Maybe so, but I want rid of Zenden and all the jack of all trades master of none. The only position where we lack cover is RB. Ive seen Geremi play RB, not a pretty sight. He is not better than any of are second choice in any other position.

He can play RB, RM, and CM.

We have cover in CM, we need a better RW than him and he aint good enough at RB!

Like I said though, for free............ So I wouldnt complain to much.
