Another point to remember is that Rafa has known for sometime that Real have wanted him, yet he bought a brand new house, and it wasnt cheap either.

    Why bother if your going?
    Forwards.......

no reason to suggest at the moment that Gillett and Hicks will let us and Rafa down with a small transfer kitty. I also doubt they would want to interfere with Rafa's day to day running of things. Once they have sat down together this whole thing will blow away for another season until the next Real Madrid manager gets sacked.

Real want him big time. New sporting director in to replace Mijatovic, and guess what? Its one of Rafas best mates........

Rafa continually asked will he stay? He just says Im focusing on the prem league and Champ League.

Rafa asked, if you had the same power at Real as you have at Anfield would you go? Rafa says Im focusing on the Villa game.

At the end Ballague says in the studio that he thinks that given the right assurances by Gillet and Hicks he will stay, which includes overhauling the academy among others..........

At no stage did Rafa say yes Im staying. But then he didnt say he was going either.

I would say that having seen the interview its not as clear cut as I thought regarding Rafas future, but I still think hes just using the media to get what he wants.
I thought Balague made a valid point when he essentially said "you never know in football when your boyhood club will want you to be their manager, can Rafa say 'no' to Madrid twice in 12 months ?".

I really dont think a new house would stop Rafa going to Madrid.

              On C.Ronaldo:

Barca will offer 75m and Real will offer 80m.

Both have the general feeling he will stay at Man Utd though. It also comes down to if Mardid can get Kaka and whether or not Barca get rid of Ronnie.

I think he can. Unless Rafa gets us relegated or something majorly unfortunate happens to a club he is in charge of, him having a European Cup win on hisCV means he can get any job he wants. Real will always be there for him. He just needs to bide his time. Ply his trade somewhere else before going there.

Maybe not, but my money would still be on Rafa to stay.

Sorry but it's a joke show.

75m (I'm assuming) euros? For Ronaldo?

Basically a journo making it up as he goes along.

He should stick to playing footie manager like the rest of us.

Rafa is our new Gerrard. Every year there will be speculation about him leaving. I don't think he will leave in the summer but it does leave a slightly bad taste in my mouth that our manager definitely has his eyes on another job.

FAO AA - You've made your point clear enough, there is no need to speculate on Rafa's further.
You just won't give this up until Rafa is presented as the new boss of Real Madrid, will you?

If Rafa get a free hand and the full suppport of Gillet and Hicks the chance of creating a dynasty at Liverpool will be more than enough to keep him from the Galatic Empire
