i reckon he would stay....he wouldnt want to go to real(i dont think) and depends on the Barca situation, i reckon thats the only club who would go to in the foreseeable futureOriginally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostTrue, plus Xabi says his heart is with Barca. But would you doubt that he would go to Spain?
My only point I want to make is that he wouldnt stay at LFC._____________________________________

Perhaps some won't leave, but perhaps having spent time abroad and with the man who brought them here leaving, they may feel it's time to return to their homeland.Originally posted by desertscouser View PostI really don't see it that way.
Why would the likes of Alonso and Reina leave if Rafa left? Are you really trying to tell me that after 3 years at the club they feel more loyal to the manager than the club itself? People underestimate what it's like for players to play for Liverpool football club.
How many players of the years have wanted to leave LFC at the peak of their careers?
Perhaps a new manager would not want "foreign" players. If the new manager was British he may prefer a more British style of player. For example, maybe he'd want a midfield 2 of Gerrard and Barton - and with a big offer from Barca then maybe Xabi would either want to leave or be deemed not to the new manager's style.
I suppose what I'm expressing, is a fear of Rafa going and returning to the drawing board with a new manager. Maybe players would leave after him or follow him to a new club, maybe they wouldn't......but there is no doubt there would be a fair bit of upheavel which can only set us back.Bring Back Rafa Cakes

If Rafa still wants Alves then it looks like he will have to pay big for him..
Barcelona have accused Sevilla of being 'outrageous' in their demands for Daniel Alves.
The Brazilian is a transfer target for the Spanish champions, who have not settled on a regular right-back this season.
Juliano Belletti, Oleguer and Gianluca Zambrotta have all taken turns in the position, but Barca want to add to their options with the summer acquisition of Alves.
However, Sevilla's value of the defender appears to contrast wildly with Barca's, who feel their title rivals have been spoilt by recent transfers.
Barca sporting director Txiki Beguiristain confirmed the club's interest in Alves, but outlined his unhappiness with the figures being quoted.
"It's outrageous what they are asking for," Beguiristain told radio station RAC 1.
"They have become accustomed to such figures because of the fees they got for Reyes, Baptista and Ramos."

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Sevilla know that they will get what they want for him. If Barca isn't prepared to pay the asking price then we or another club like Milan, Real or Chelsea will pay what Sevilla is asking.Just believe and you never know what will happen.

To be honest I was just amused by the Barca representative claiming the fee was outrageous, as if they had a divine right to buy whoever they want.Originally posted by AFII View PostSevilla know that they will get what they want for him. He's right though - Zambrotta is obviously a class act and I imagine he'd have no problems adapting to the Prem. He's not exactly been a mainstay in the Barca side either, so perhaps it's not such a ridiculous idea.
I've had my heart set on Alves since the first time I saw him play, but I'm now resigned to the fact we'll never sign him.
