oooh, i like eidur think he would make a real difference, but as the link up player, NOT a striker..therefore in my team that makes stevie a right sided player again...cant see it myself, reckon rafa will surprise us and really go to town on the attacking front this summer, we will have a super star or 2 coming in, i betcha.

I think he is a good player ad given a consistent run in the team could be a real threat. I remember a few seasons ago he was knocking them in and also setting up Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink on a regular basis.
I would wonder more how he would fit into a team which is also likely to have Gerrard, Alonso and Sissoko, without Gerrard being on the right? If we had Gudjohnsen then wouldnt that restrict Gerrard's floatingQuit your jibber jabber!!!
Jermaine, you know the song Billie Jean...is it about the tennis player??

I'd be extremely happy with just Eto'o or Tevez. If we could somehow snag Eidur aswell then id be well chuffed..i hate the prick, but he is a very clever player.
imagine an attack of Kuyt, Eto'o and Eidur!!! plus Bellers to throw in when teams are getting tired. We would be savage.

I was kidding. I can't see us signing Villa, Etoo or any **** hot forward. We'll probably go out and sign Darren Bent.Originally posted by Harveybirdman View Post

I don't think Gudjohnsen is a target but who knows.
If we signed him then he would replace Crouch. Would he really score more goals than Crouch if he played as much as Crouch have played this season?
Gudjohnsen doesn't have that much better goals/game than Garcia.
He wouldn't add that much more to our link up play than Crouch does.
I wouldn't be surprised if Tevez is a target. Someone must have tied up a deal for him or else it would be much more rumours about him in the media.
I wouldn't rule out us signing Villa as it looks like Valencia are prepared to sell him.
It looks like Juve have secured Huntelaar for £8m-£10m so that rules him out
Will Rafa go back and try to sign Owen again? Probably, if he proves his fitness. He is the cheapest and best available option if he is fit.
Berbatov would probably cost £25m+ and that probably rules him out.
Bojinov could be a cheaper option than Tevez. Plays in the same position.
Barca will only sell Eto'o for silly money and it looks like Ronaldinho will move to Milan in the summer and that probably means that Eto'o will stay.
Gilardinho looks to be on the way from Milan. Could be an option.
What about Bent then? He has scored a lot of goals but isn't proven at the highest level.
Elmander probably is the best striker in France. Good link up player, quick and strong in the air. He will move to a top club this or next summer.
Please don't make this into an Owen discussion thread just because I mentioned him
If you read the whole post then you will discover that I mentioned a lot of other strikers.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Juventus have an option on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s heir – Ajax starlet Klaas Jan Huntelaar – according to today’s European newspapers.
Reports in several nations suggest that Arsenal had an approach for the 23-year-old forward rejected because he already has an agreement in place with Juve.
It’s claimed that the Bianconeri have offered £8m, just under Ajax’s price-tag of £10m, and the money will be raised by the probable summer sale of want-away stars Mauro Camoranesi and David Trezeguet.
Juventus have a strong rapport with the Dutch club, having taken Ibrahimovic in a surprise swoop in 2004.
Huntelaar has been compared to Ibra for his power and eight – 1.86m – but is already far more prolific than the Swede at this stage.
Still only 23 years of age, he netted 33 goals in the Dutch League last season and has already netted 17 in 27 this term, added on to his nine in as many Champions League and UEFA Cup matches.
Huntelaar shot to fame in the European Under-21 Championships, where he was voted Player of the Tournament.
Juventus have already snapped up another Ajax starlet, Czech international defender Zdenek Grygera, while Bayern Munich’s Hasan Salihamidzic has also penned a Bosman deal.

Forgot about Klose
He could of course be an option. A complete striker that scores a lot of goals and also creates very much for his team mates.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
