That's fair enough, but my point is, Marky's entitled to start a thread like this, and he doesnt necessarily have to have any 'motive' in mind, other than the fact that it popped into his head and he wanted to post it.

Dont see why people cant just ignore topics that they're not keen on, it's not asking a lot.

Im an Owen fan or should I say, was. I agree with previous posters who said there was more to his game than just pace. He was a goal machine which is what the current team is crying out for now. I am pretty sure if he had stayed and played under Rafa he would have banged in the goals.
I dont know if he will recover enough to become a force again but if we can take Fowler back than surely taking Owen back isnt that far fetched. My only proviso would be that we dont spend too much.
However saying all that it would be good to see someone come through the reserves or perhaps we can buy someone classy who is young and hungry.

Or why should people be prevented from making their opinion known that they don't like reading the same old thing time and again?

My mistake for opening a thread started by Marky and hoping to read something other than the usual dross we have come to expect from him and from the numerous other threads we've already had on this very same topic.

What's the fecking point in posting to say you're bored of the topic?

Do you go into pubs you dont like, specifically to tell the landlord you're not keen?

Takes less time and effort to just ignore it.

FFS get off your high horse.

I opened up the thread hoping to read a new slant on an old theme.

Instead I was to disappointed to read the same **** (from a known WUM) we've all read a thousand times before and said so.

I'm with DJS on this - it's not as if the title to this thread doesn't give it away.

Don't want to talk about the player then no need to click on the thread

                        im undecided on Owen really.

I'd have him back in the side, but he would have a fair bit to do before he wins me over.

If we could get another striker...such as a Eto'o, Klose, Huntelaar or Trezeguet....then i would be all for having Mickey back to team up with them. But i would be dissapointed if he was our only striker signing.

He will always score goals if he is fit. The question is can he come back and be the player he was when he was with us. He seems to have lost that yard of pace, which made him unstoppable.

The problem is that the only two strikers that can compere to Owen five years ago are Eto'o and Villa and they will cost a fortune.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I hate the injury prone ****. He was so dishonest during the Real move. He can **** right off.

What would he do if he joined us? Have a long barren spell while he takes ages to find his feet and then hit a purple patch for a month maybe two at the most and then get injured and then start the cycle again.
Can't believe I'm going to do this but.....the bit in bold above, prove to us how you know that to be 100% true?

I'll bet its your opinion, which you are of course entitled to, but don't post your opinion as absolute fact. It does you no justice.

Oh and seeing as this is a discussion going on in two threads on 6CM, then I think you'll understand where the inspiration for this thread has come from.
