If the 15 million pound offer came, I don't think Rafa will accept it. Neither would I. Why?

Because when you value a transfer under these circumstances, (a few weeks left before the transfer window closes / less than a week before the start of the Premiership) one has to consider the opportunity cost of selling an established left-back together with his so called "market-value". So Riise may be worth 5-10 million in Rafa's eyes, but he will be reluctant to let him go because the opportunity cost of the transfer is potentially a crippling blow to stability at the back. Unless Aurelio settles down very quickly, left back will be a problem at least until the transfer window opens again in January. And even then, a quality left back may be hard to come by.
"In fact I’m going to make a promise which will be welcomed by many. If there’s no finance secured by the opening day of the season, I’m going to hang up my keyboard and close KOPTALK down."

Yeah sorry mate, your right, or i mean left
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Exactly mate, Id be really dissapointed if we had to start the season without him, I just love to see the Chanvs having to start the season with no cover there apart from Bridge, still think they will get Cole though.

It's not true, they want Cole and they don't usually miss out on targets unless they are world class players.

Has anyone thought that this may just be the standard tactic of claiming big interest in another player so that the other team sell?

I.e. claim 15 mil interest in Riise, to pressure Arsenal into selling Cole to them?

I suppose it then depends on how REALLY keen the Arse are on keeping Cole.

After what Cole has been saying about them, i'd say, not very.
Wenger would put the money to good use anyway.

                          Cole or JAR?

                          JAR - complete no brainer.

Really?? I npersonally rate Cole very highly and he is improving all the time. Ok he doesnt score but thats not the left backs job!

Think cole is a very, very good player

Cole is so over-rated it's untrue, usually by the championship manager know-alls.

                              I'd rather have Riise.

Just my opinion, but Ashley Cole is the better player. JAR is a little too suspect defensively to be considered a threat to Cole's crown as best LB in the prem.
