Sorry mate, but Cisse was ****. He could have scored 40 goals and still wouldnt have convinced me otherwise.

At the top level of sport, it is the ability to distinguish that makes you stand out from the crowd. Cisse had absolutely no ability to do that - he just ran (occasionally) and shot (often). Any player who does that in a winning team will always get a bit of joy, but without that ability to make distinctions you'll never be a top player.

No-one in their right mind would prefer Voronin to Cisse.

I remember the days when we spoke of the "holy trinity" on Kraptalk. We all wanted GED to sign Duff, Kewell & Cisse. He managed 2 of them but sadly their careers at Anfield was hampered with injuries. I like Cisse but I cant see a way back for him with Rafa. Same for Kewell whom I think will be sold in the summer.
Good luck Djibs, you never rocked the boat like some other striker we have now did.

personally i think cisse had a hard time with us, out of position, rotated, injured....i reckon he would be a hell of an option as a squad player, id certainly have him ahead of fowler, voronin and maybe even bellamy. Would never be my 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice striker but a useful sub, cover, all the same.

Cisse had plenty of oppertunities, he is just a waster who never could be arsed, moaned and was a terrible finisher. He had plenty of starts last season, he was just ****, he is **** now, he was **** then he will forever be ****, deal with his ****ness.

I quite liked the lad to be honest, he had a bit of character about him, a strange but endearing sort of guy was however he was very, very frustrating on the pitch.
All the ingredients he has to be a top striker, power, pace, the odd good finish but you wonder what the fcuk he be's thinking half the time, ie that terrible miss at Old Trafford last season when he was fixing up his boot whilst the ball was still in play, only for the ball to come his way, he reacted late and smashed the ball high as a kite over the bar.

Not all there the lad.

The other players seemed to like him and he was a good presence around the place by the accounts we hear, but as for performances on the pitch...


Rafa wants players who can carry out his orders and play as we need to to win games. Cisse couldn't do that. Would you rather have a striker who scores 20 goals a season, or one who scores a 15, helps to set up another 15, and defends from the front? (Not actual figures representative of anything other than the kind of player Cisse seemed to me.)
