There prob was, my memory is **** as well, but i do remember something about a survey being sent out to all locals and not too many people sending it back. Now i know if i really objected to something id defo send it back.

As i said before, it aint great living too close to a football ground, but its only a pain in the arse 1 or 2 times a fortnight. Ive lived near Woodison for 6 years now and its never really botherd me.
I know its little, but thats David Banner. Just wait untill you see the Incredible Hulk

Its not quite next, thank god but close enough. The horrible thing is seeing there smiling face when they win, the good thing is seeing them pissed off when they loose. Which is more often the case ( just not lately )

Seems i was wrong about ppl not sending survey back

"October, 2002: Survey of 19,000 residents supports the new ground."

            You were right,

            JUNE 5
            Thousands oppose new stadium

By Al Campbell - LFC Online

A 10,000 strong petition against Liverpool's new stadium in Stanley Park was handed in by protesters this week.

Chairman of the Anfield Regeneration Action Committee Joe Kenny handed the protest in at Millenium house, home of the city council planning department, last Tuesday.

Mr Kenny said: "Today the people of Anfield delivered over 10,000 individual objections as well as an official statement outlining the reasons why the city council must not approve Liverpool Football Club's planning application.

"The official letter carries over 100 planning objections. In the light of this, we expect Liverpool City Council to reject LFC's plans as they are in total contradiction with the council's own planning policy.

"If passed, Liverpool City Council would be acting illegally and the individual councillors could well be culpable.

"We would seek to have the councillors who vote through this application removed from office on the grounds that they would be acting ultra vires (beyond their powers)."

Liverpool looked at 17 sites across Merseyside before deciding on Stanley Park.

Feck em anyway, its a 15 min walk for me and will be quicker when the new one is built

See I'd be quite happy to live next door. Only stipulation would be a driveway to keep the car out of the way.

Incidentally what would be the problem for you. If you lived adjacent to Anfield you would be at the match every game wouldn't you?

Anyone fancy buying the Arkles and turning it into a theme pub?

There's a word for people who oppose the stadium getting built.................... Evertonians. As someone rightly pointed out the problem is not congested roads it's parking. This problem is about to be eradicated with residents parking permits. Honestly you can't imagine what it was like growing up in Anfield during the 70s. Scotland vs Wales in 1977 was just one of the best days of my life. Drinking tea with the jocks who put up tents in Stanley Park! Kenny scoring the greatest (headed) goal ever at Anfield.
Bumping into Bob Paisley going to the cobblers at the top of Wenlock Road with boots that needed mending!!. It would break my heart to see the stadium moved to another part of the city. I think most residents of Anfield, red or blue, would , retrospectively, feel the same way.l

Wrong. My family was red through and through going back to my great grandfathers days in about 1905!!. My dad went for the first time in 1946 following the war. I was lucky and started in 1974 with my dad. I now have a season ticket prepared for my son (he's 3) that is tradition.

What Bill did was tap into that already serious passion and give it life.

Our success goes back before Bills days as well. Bert Stubbins, Billy Liddell, Nivvy and the rest are tantamount to that.

Not knocking you mate but remember that some of us can safely say that the club is bigger than anyone!! Anyone at all. Keep supporting us but don't try and move the ground away from its roots.

One quick addition. I've been parking at Wenlock since my dad first took me in 74. That is tradition and people want me to give it up for parking space E7 in block 126 at the "new Anfield" in speke so I can get my shuttle bus for the "anfield experience"!!!! Leave me with my pink echo and a night out in the Conty

what i meant was the club as we know it was started by bill. but what he did was bring us out of obscurity. he didnt do it by looking back but by doing things in a then modern way.

our history is one of our greatest assets but also a chain around our necks.

what i say is stick to our principles but remeber those that are sucessful move with the times. many clubs have moved stadiums it has not meant the clubs souls have been ripped from them.

if we dont move on one day we will die.

Is ****in right. Prior to Bill Shankly turning up we'd won 5(i think) titles a feat only surpassed now by Man u,arsenal, Villa & Blue ****e.

the reality is if the club went down "this is widnes" route that it would still fill a stadium and therefore very possibly win more titles.

and while some of us said it was better in the old days the club would carry on and be healthy without us.

brilliant. I can cope with the move to Stanley Park but don't let them move us any further.

                                This is Widnes...hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

And look what eventually happened to the Jubilee golf club.....we would all end up with four heads and a strange skin disorder. Stick Golden Wonder where the sun don't shine
