I agree, they have impressed me immensely and I think even they are amazed what a cashcow the premiership is and i am sure they will plough an awful lot of money back into the club

I think the roof is the best part about it. It's massively steep over all stands and is unique in it's design. It will make the acoustics amazing.

Unique!!!. Go and look at Sporting Lisbons ground. I'm surprised the architects haven't been sued for plagiarism. I've always thought that design wasn't anywhere near distinctive enough for a club like ours.

It matters when I get some youngster telling me to stay away from a place I've been going for donkey's years. But I apologise for a cheap shot, mate.

Until I see something concrete that vastly improves our original plans, then I'll continue to consider that we're making a huge (and expensive) mistake, and not making the mosty of our vast ST waiting list.

Why make the option of expanding possible in the future when we can fill an 80k stadium practically every week? 2/3 year wait for the planning permission as someone else said sure but will save a hellova lot of hassle in the future.

There's no evidence that the season ticket list is anything near accurate, hell half of the people on it could be dead, some might not be in a position to but a season ticket anymore, and some might not even want one any more. I think there should be a new list created, which will give a more realistic figure.

It doesn't matter whether it's 30K or 50K on our ST waiting list - we need to be able to offer another 20,000 STs minimum without the additional corporate space. That means 75,000 minimum. So 60,000 is nowhere near enough to start with.

61k is ample for the next few years. Gillett said after the PSV game on ITV that Arsenal are now making the most money on a match day and guess what their ground holds.

61k and an improved infrasructure and life into the area will smooth the councils fears of just going balls deep for 80-90k. Its easier for them to take a rise of 20k than it is a rise of 40-50k. It makes sense to build the new ground rather than wait another 6 years before moving.

They'll build the new ground and while its all taking shape, start on the applications for expansion. 61k is to tide us over and make more money while we wait. It makes perfect business sense. Waiting means more cost in the long run and us falling further behind.

It wouldn't take 6 years if you picked the correct site and the plans went in quickly.

                            Pick a site then.

And what council would plans go quickly in?

You have to remember that Arsenal have higher ticket prices because they are in London, so they may have higher takings but their expenditure will be a lot higher. We can't have takings as high as Arsenal with a similar sized stadium, or there will be an outcry.

Like I've said before, somewhere towards the M57/58/62. The less disruption to local amenities the less objections the councils have. That's the point. Even where Bootle chose to build their new stadium would have been easier getting people in and out.
