It's mostly young supporters that have a dislike of Garcia, those that haven't yet grasped the philosophy of the game, and are lacking in skills that see the overall bigger & wider picture that certain players will always bring to the side.

Listen mate, i have no agenda against the lad and yes he's produced some absolutely wonderful moments for us, not least goals against Bayer Leverkusen, Juve and Chelsea on route to us winning the Champions League in 05(Forever i'll be gratefel to Lil Luis for those magic moments) to name but a few however i just don't think he can be relied upon if we are to challenge for the league.

He gives the ball away far, far too cheaply for a player who is 28 and played for FC Barcelona and his country in the world cup. Not acceptable as far as i'm concerned.

It's his carelessness more than anything that turns me against him, first season you could put up with it as he was settling into the EPL etc but after his 3rd season at the club, he's giving the ball away probably more often.

It's mostly supporters with a well rounded knowledge of the game that have a dislike of Garcia, those that are not blinded by the odd flash-in-the-pan goal or pretty boy looks, those who know a consistent player when they see one.

I know. It's not like he was our top scorer in the CL the year we won it or something. FFS the guy has done nothing to deserve the kind of constant praise being lavished on him here lately, thread after thread of it that we seem to be seeing :whatever:

i've talked to a few lads from south america who don't really like english football, and the reason is that they feel it discourages players productivity. if a player looses the ball whilst trying to create he gets hacked in england whilst it more acceptable in other leagues. this is exactly the case with garcia, alot of people remember him for his cons rather than his pros. English football has been lighting up in recent years, and it's mostly because of foreign influence. back in the 70's and 80's when we were playing beautiful football most other teams weren't doing so. who can't remember boring arsenal. we have a history of great attacking football, but were lucky most teams haven't. english football still at times is to defensive minded. i like seeing garcia trying, sometimes it works but other times it doesn't but sometimes he's the only one trying something different and that makes a big difference in our team. he's always there to produce something special. and on very few occasions has his errors in attack cost us a goal, if he was constantly loosing possession and it would result in us loosing points i wouldn't like the lad so much. he simply is worth the risk...

Don't be sensible & reasonable now, you know the kids over here only like them players that take the ball off the goalie and run the length of the pitch with the ball on an elastic at their feet and score a goal, you know it works every time doesn't it?
