I think it speaks volumes that we haven't missed him at all. Flying high in the CL and motoring along nicely in the Premiership.

The odd spectacular goal here and there is all good and well but, for me, it doesn't gloss over his poor contribution to the team the other 80% of the time. In most games, his sloppy passing and inability to maintain possession of the ball is a out and out hinderance, and his silly flicks infuriate the players as well as the fans. As Steven Gerrard said not too long ago, Garcia can score the odd wonder goal but he can equally frustrate and miss the simple 6 yard sitter.

Now that we have money, we can surely upgrade. Garcia has served his purpose at a time when transfer funds have been at a premium and versatility has been an absolute necessary.

I think Carra said it best when asked what was need for LFC to win #19: "better players".

I disagree. I think we have missed him - but it's all a matter of opinion. We missed him v Aston Villa. We missed him in the derby and again on Saturday. He's a very useful member of the squad who is the most likely to be the difference between us ekeing out a 1-0 win or settling for a 0-0 draw.

30 goals in 112 appearances, a lot of those as a sub and from midfield... waste of space my ar5e.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

            Well said

He is a real match winner, something we lack so he is a must keep imo.

My fear is that we might prove to miss him, especially in the upcoming CL fixtures.

He is a livewire and one of the few players that we have who gambles in the box and can pounce on a bit of space or the ball falling free in the area. With our strikers not being the most prolific, this is absolutely crucial.

I really dont understand the criticism of him because he occasionally gives the ball away. I know it's frustrating, but surely winners against Juve, Chelsea in 2 semis, Arsenal at the death etc more than make up for this?

I think people will always be critical, wanting a player who never does anything wrong.

Garcia would be in my squad of 16 every time.

Garcia is our most creative player by a mile.

Gerrard isn't as creative for example. He uses his energy to get past players.

It would need to be a top class signing if we would be able to replace him.

Pennant or Garcia on the right....Garcia every time.

Gonzalez, Riise or Garcia on the left...Garcia every time.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

and there is a reason Rafa rates him very highly.
