Awk he's being fcuked about, playing out a position
Awk it's a world cup hangover, that's the one
Awk he's not playing with good enough players, yep that's defo it

How about wake up and smell the ****ing coffee folks, he's been utter ****e for the vast majority of this season and as AA rightly said he's looked completely disinterested.

Maybe you should be subbed off then, give you a bit of a break, and you might come back a better poster for it

If he scores a hat-trick against Chelsea in both semi final legs and then scores a hat-trick in the Champions League Final i'll still stand by my comments of his performances/effort/application in most of our games this season.

The thing is no one will give a **** about the comments then tho, cos we'll have number 6, and the best goal scoring midfielder in the world

Course you will. Is that after you've been pulled down off the ****ing ceiling??

I think there are a few things that may be causing the problem here.

Rafa's rotation policy doesn't help matters, constantly changing Gerrard's role and team mates in the side so that it does become tricky to find any consistency to our attacking play. Today was the most obvious example, playing with Kuyt who never stays where he should and resulting in our front 2 being Gerrard and Riise at times.

We all know one of Gerrard's best moves is that curved ball from the right behind the defence, the one he used to play to Owen with such great effect and the one he played to Cisse for the cup final goal. With Bellamy misfiring and no other pace up front that option has been nullified.

Rafa's own personal style doesn't sit well with Gerrard, he politely trys to pass it off as being "different and professional" but you can tell he would prefer a slightly more personal and understanding approach.

I'd also suggest that Rafa as a coach isn't that great. His main quality is having a system and getting players to perform in roles in that system. Carra and Finnan have perhaps risen to prominence since Rafa took charge but that's mainly because they've had distinct, settled roles in the side - something that wasn't true of the Houllier reign. Of course this relates back to my first point, but also in terms of ability I can't think of any midfield / forward player that I believe has significantly improved their skill level since they joined the club under Rafa.

Gerrard wants to be a great in his head i think he already thinks it. The greatest of players even when they were havin a bad time always tried gerrard doesnt try he walks around the pitch like a sulky 8 year old ( if i hear him moan about benitez not putting his hand around him once more-more evidence that he's not ready to assume greatness)Houllier over indulged him and stunted his growth . In fairness he has performed some heroic feats for Liverpool but in all those games he has had admirable back-up from players who never got 10% of the praise that gerrard got( hamann in Istanbul for instance turned the game but all we hear of is Gerrard dragging us back into the game single handed)
the sun gives life and it takes it away
but like all the greats it will burn out some day

                          This is a good point.

And as I said, if he will not play in Rafas system, he should be sold.

Good post with some valid points.

I especially agree with what you touched upon about Rafa's relationship with Stevie. Gerrard has stated time and again he prefers the 'arm round the shoulder' approach, Rafa should have the flexibility and man management skills to understand this and work with Gerrard in a more productive way.

This thread will make far better reading if we all just argue the points rather than reel of insults at each other. Anyway, let's put it in perspective, we were **** today, but we're 2 points clear in 3rd and it's the CL we're really looking to now anyway. Stevie has undoubtedly been poor this season by his standards, I know a lot of people will disagree but I think a lot of that is to do with the way he is being asked to play by Rafa.
