Should we celebrate a manager guiding his team to mid table or above??

If Ferguson/Jose win the league with their team then they should get the Manager of the year

GH should have won it in 2001, but it was dished out before the cups were won, shocking result that year.

When you are favourites for relegation yes. And they may yet finish in a European place.

However, if Man Utd or Chelsea win the treble or quadrouple then there can only be 1 winner.
        Forwards.......

They mean feck all to be fair, the players would much rather have medals from Cups or the league that season. Awards should be handed out at the end of the season not with a few weeks to go madness.

But he hasnt won anything in the large scale of things he's done nothing to merit an award over a manager who has won something

Why exactly? Surely the manager of the year should be the manager who has achieved the most with the tools at his disposal. Imo Steve Copell's amazing achievement with Reading this year easily matches either that of Fergie or Maureen in winning the league with by far the biggest and most expensively assembled teams.

Infact, if manager of the year just goes as default to the manager of the team that wins the league, the award is a complete farce as only 3 or 4 teams have any chance of winning it at all.

Ask ANY United fan who is better defensively Evra or Heinze.

Ask ANY United fan who is better 'offensively' Evra or Heinze.

90% will say Evra for both. Liverpool fans who dont watch much of United jump on the Evra 'is great going forward, but too short and cant defend' bandwagon spouted by tabloid journalists. Bollocks.

Essien should have been in the team though an McCarthy over Berb.
As a test I just texted 3 of my mates who support them. 2 said Heinze is better defensively, and 2 said Evra is better going forward. The other said "who cares, we're going win the treble"

Your entitled to your opinion but mine is a view that differs if it comes down to a manager that has guided their team to mid table or above having been promoted or not, or a manager that has won something i.e the league then the award has to go to that team

                      like he said
'Of course I didn't take my wife to see Rochdale as an anniversary present.
                      It was her birthday.
Would I have got married during the football season ?
                      Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.'

Does it then follow the players of the season should only be players that won something too? These are individual awards and should reflect an individual's performance.

A vote by the pros will always put medals won first & foremost, obviously.

A vote by the rest of us, The People, will mostly always be romantic and put achievement with the given tools ie hard work and commitment to the cause, first & foremost.

                              Do you actually watch football?

We'll see who Ferguson thinks is better if they get to a couple of finals and they're both fit, yes?
