Really? Can't see that being true as Carra is on about £60,000.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

          Carra's on around 90k.

          Think it's
          Gerrard, Carragher, Hyypia, Dudek.

Strangely, the likes of Alonso, Finnan and Riise don't come close to what Dudek earns.

Has he got the same contract he had when he first signed cause he has been **** since 2002

Houllier ballsed up on transfer deadline day in 2001 I think it was, he thought Dudek was going to Arsenal to replace Seaman.
He offered Dudek a massive contract to snub Arsenal and join Liverpool but didn't think the keeper would accept it, having set his heart on a move to London.
Houllier then lined up Chris Kirkland as a replacement - he was shipping Sander Westerveld out after one mistake too many in a game at Bolton cost Liverpool the game.
So, with Kirkland signed, Dudek then revealed he had snubbed Arsenal and was happy to sign for Liverpool.
Houllier coudn't back out at that stage, and we ended up with the both of them on the same day.

Also, Dudek's contract was a 5.5 year deal, expiring in June 2007.
It was also on a sliding incremental scale year-on-year, which is a common contract for footballers.

One of the reasons Dudek has never left is because of his contract. He wouldn't earn anywhere near what he gets now at another club.

Rafa is happy to keep him at Liverpool, hardly as a slave mind you, as he too knows the difficulty in getting a good goalkeeper to basically agree to put his career on hold on the bench.

i was under the impression it was also going to kick off and require compensation if we backed out of the deal at that late stage

I'm sure he aint on 80k. Possibly the week we won big ears.

Compared to most africans, anyone on minimum wage in the UK should be blissfully happy and not worry about the work, location, boss or anything else about their employment? He will never need to earn another penny, but you can't buy your time back. The money is not the comfort to him it would be to us, same as the £6 an hour you can earn in macdonalds here is not the comfort to us it would be to a Sudanese refugee. The argument is irrelevant. IMO - and regardless he's kept his head down until now, like a good pro.

Dudek is in the final stage of his career and wants to play. He's let it be known in the club 2 years ago and had offers from other clubs to go and be their number 1 at a fair price to LFC. Jerzy was the Polish national keeper and considered one of the best in the world and didn't want to rot in the reserves. We slate other players for lacking ambition and being happy to pick up wages and not play!

Diao = **** for not going and taking more money to sit on the bench
Wright-Phillips = **** for being happy on dollar to warm the Chavs bench
                      etc etc etc
Dudek = **** for wanting to leave and play for less money

Just because we love LFC and Raffa does not mean we're/he is entirely untouchable. we treated Jerzy badly and ruined the end of his career for him. That is sad, especially as we did not need him, we had sufficient cover. And he'd been a hero for us! He's earnt the right to a dignified end to his career and has been treated badly. Prospective signings will see this and think twice...probably why we end up with a Voronin as back-up!

If he was any good we'd have been inundated with offers for him. He's just deflecting the blame for this onto Rafa and the club.

He does make a good point though, what quality keeper could we bring in who'd be willing to be number 2 to Reina? Shame Carson doesnt seem willing to do it.
Agreed, not good enough. But wasn't he injured at the start of 2005/2006? Screwing up any chance of a quick sale after the CL.
Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

same here fella, thought he would be able to do a job when needed, but it is clear he really isn't up to the job. Can see why he wants to play but comments like this wont help at all.

no slave in history ever earned 25,000 a week for sitting on his arse, he should get over it.

I feel sorry for Jerzy, he hasn't been treated fairly at all. When Reina went through that horrendous patch of form at the start of the season - let's be honest folks, he cost us a few points - Jerzy should have been given a chance. What's the point in having another keeper for backup/competition if you're never going to use him?

Against Arsenal in those two cup games, I don't blame him for his lack of concentration - I'm sure motivation was long gone at that stage.

I'm one of Rafa's biggest fans but this has been dreadful man management.
