    Wigan not happy with LFC

Wigan boss Paul Jewell has hit out at Liverpool for fielding an under-strength side against Fulham.

Fulham boosted their survival hopes with a 1-0 win over the UEFA Champions League finalists on Saturday.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez made nine changes to his side for the game at Craven Cottage and the decision left Jewell seething as Fulham climbed further clear of his own Wigan side in the battle to avoid relegation

"What happens to Wigan is of no concern to Liverpool, but for the good of the game, its integrity, resting nine players can't be right," Jewell told The S*n.

"What if Sheffield United had won at Aston Villa and decided to play a reserve team against us next week? It's the same scenario.

"If Neil Warnock announced he was going to rest nine regulars there would be absolute murder.

"We are not down in this position because of Fulham or because of the situation at West Ham or because Liverpool have rested nine players, but events have conspired against us."

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

A lot of differing views over this over the weekend, but for me they got themselves in the position if we want to rest 9 players then that's up to us, the 11 out there were capable of winning so it's not as if we threw the game

    Pah!

**** Wigan, and all the other "bottom of the table sides", for that matter!

If they weren't so ****, they wouldn't have to worry about Liverpool's "Weakened team selections".

I'm sick of every ****er moaning about us.

Bottom line is - they should take a leaf out of our book, and worry about they're own teams, and not everyone elses!

    I rest my case

Jewell and that **** Whelan have to much to say about other clubs. They should concentrate on keeping their own house in order. The fact of the matter is that whether we beat Fulham on Saturday or not, despite the team we put out, they would still be in the bottom 3 because they lost to Middlesborough and West Ham won.

Wigan have been atrocious this season and they're where they are because they've been ****e and not because of anything else.

      Paul Jewell should remember that.

Wigan and Jewell can **** right off. Hardly our fault that they are in the bottom three.

          **** off Jewell.

It's not Rafa's job to keep you up.

I`d love to ask Jewel if he`d do the same thing if he was our manager.

I'm not sticking up for Jewell here but I distinctly remember us fielding a strong team against them.

Was wondering if he would say anything, what else was Rafa to do though? even with Rafa resting players, we had 4 injuries to important players. Im sure PJ would have done the same if he was out manager in the same situation.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                            * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs
