We fielded our weaker team against Wigan, but they didnt capitalize.

Jewell and that **** Whelan have to much to say about other clubs. They should concentrate on keeping their own house in order. The fact of the matter is that whether we beat Fulham on Saturday or not, despite the team we put out, they would still be in the bottom 3 because they lost to Middlesborough and West Ham won.

Wigan have been atrocious this season and they're where they are because they've been ****e and not because of anything else.

Paul Jewell should remember that.

I would much prefer Whelan "the ****" than the scarf-wearing, cookie-sacking Al Fayed. There are lots of ex-reds at Wigan and I don't want to see them down.

Chances are, they will go down. If they can't get anything from Boro at home, they can't beat Sheff. Utd away.

Jewell's got a very valid point. I don't blame Rafa for the team he picked but equally, I don't blame Jewell for being pissed off about it. Lets face it, the team we played against Fulham was a shocker. There's no way a full strength 11 would have been beaten & Fulham picked up 3 more points than they probably would have done.

imagine the stink on here if we were going for the title & say Wigan rested a load of players against our title rivals. Those telling jewell to eff off would be up in arms.

Fair point but I think you have to factor that in to your planning. Its a tough break on Wigan but at the same time I dont think his comments or his Chairmans incessant meddling are winning them any fans anywhere. Wigan have been crap this season and there not surprisingly lies the problem

Maybe if Wigan had actually made more of an effort during the previous 10 months then Jewell wouldn't have to resort to blaming his predicament on other team's selections!
