I don't disagree with you about the request for information, it is a PR disaster. You're also right about the club being a commercial entity who can treat us in whatever way they like, because the reality is that we are not going to support another team, there are no alternatives for us so they have the whip hand.
However, I will never do anything that can be construed as not supporting my team and to protest in this way will be seized upon as fans not supporting the team, regardless of the intention. Just my opinion and the reason why I didn't join in.

But once the chants against Parry finished, the chant of 'Liverpool' started up. Showing that everyone is still behind the team but not happy at the club and I think the team side of things know this.

But the demo itself was outside the ground and was also interspersed with "We shall not be moved, we're the team that's gonna win the European Cup".

I don't think anyone could genuinely say that the protests outside or inside the ground we're directed at the team. And I don't think anyone could say that the team was not warmly supported yesterday either.

I understand where you're coming from, but I think you can collectively protest at the club while making it clear we support the team completely.

I reckon the local lads in the team especially who have roots in the local community will be very aware of how bad people are feeling over this too. So I don't see how Parry prolonging it (assuming he has that easy answer of course!) is helping the team anyhow.

But you're right Glove, the team can see the difference between attacking club policy or club employees, and attacking the team itself.

I thought the team were really well supported yesterday and got a great reception, despite the anger directed at the Chief Executive.

I have sympathy for the fans that didn't get tickets I really do but IMO this isn't the Liverpool way.

How do we protest something we're unhappy with that would fit "the Liverpool Way" though mate.

I tell you why its not been the Liverpool way though. Because Liverpool was built up on a unity between the club and the fans - a special relationship.

That's not the case anymore. Its a very different game these days.

I'm not having a pop matey and I really feel for the fans who didn't get tickets.

It was something that grated on me however and something I wouldn't do. By all means write to the club and the local paper about how unhappy you are but a protest calling for someones head is a bit Newcastleish IMO.

No mate I know you're not. I was just curious as to what you felt should be done to express genuine outrage if not something like this.

Ultimately, a protest like the one yesterday represents better the level of unhappiness than a few letters in the Echo can do.

Personally I have no sympathy with Parry at all. He's brought all this on himself by the contempt he's shown with this "we won't play the numbers game" lark.

I think he's fair game as things stand.

I did initially feel uneasy at the idea myself beforehand, but once I saw how well attended it was it actually made me feel really pleased and heartened that at last the plebs were demanding their rightful place back.

For me, letters to the paper aren't sufficient for an issue like this. It was right that the fury of the supporters was expressed.

And the fact that it WAS so unLiverpool like should really underline how deep the level of discontent is on this one. It wasn't just kids on that demo. It was people steeped in the Liverpool traditions too. I think that says a lot in itself
