Protest planned at Sunday's game

We know (as much as we 'know' about the 7000) that the 7000 tickets includes the ex-shareholder allocation, which, from figures available at the buy-out (when the eligibility for tickets was very publicly confirmed) must be a minimum of around 3500. To dismiss this allocation - which has always had final tickets - as corporate ******s, or suts, or non-fans, is disingenuous to say the least.
And the remainder covers staff, players, development association - and yes, inevitably, Corporate STH and sponsors.

JRC, any Chief Executive who dismisses such widespread anger with a refusal to break down the numbers if there is an easy non controversial answer to where the 7,000 tickets are is a cock of the highest order.
all we've ever asked for is where the tickets went given that hardly anyone seems to have one. in the absence of that information we've had to fill that vacuum. if that makes us morons in your eyes so be it. but we're filling a vacuum of their creation, and we're demanding the correct info, but so far in vain.
like i said, we may be ignorant but not wilfully. we're willing them NOT to ignore us so we can all put this issue to bed.
if there's an easy answer, then Rick Parry is a gob****e for not letting us know what it is.
If there is such an easy answer why would he deliberately ensure that people CONTINUE to feel as upset as so many clearly do. Why not clear everything up for us with some honesty and transparency.
It's hardly healthy that so many feel that the club **** on their own supporters. If Parry has a response that makes it clear that they didn't, he's a dickhead for keeping us feeling so ****ed over when we should all be looking forward to the final whether we're going or not.
If Parry has a non controversial response to the question of "where did the tickets go" lets hear it. Its pretty straightforward.

Parry has already said that all the non-ballot tickets - the missing 7000, let's say - were issued in the same numbers (not proportion) as for Istanbul. The only variables are the number of ST and FC with 6 credits and the UEFA allocation. The allocation policy, shareholder entitlement and Corporate ST entitlement is as was publicly available at the start of the season. The shareholding and entitlement were published at the buy-out, all much more transparent than anecdotal evidence or the admittedly impressive, but unverified and unvalidated, efforts of couple of php script kids, on whihc people have been prepared to storm the barricades.
Fwiw, I think the club should publish some simple breakdown, if only to nip that particular pasrt of the accusation in the bud, but don't believe that it will resolve much; some want to know the comparison with Istanbul, others how many FC with 6 games only got tickets, others have the 'postcode' conspiracy; others believe any entitlement should go to sponsors, or shareholders, others object to the allocation hierarchy. The numbers being out won't stop a lot of the argument, just re-direct it.
As I say, the missing 7000 is, imo, an ill-founded (and refuted) position; there is some point at which the club cannot be held responsible for refuting every internet myth that takes hold, just becasue people get themselves worked up about it. Maybe they have to on this one.
This started with accusations of fraud, TO corruption, Travel agents on the make with Parry in their pocket; were people now protesting yesterday becasue they are angry that other people are angry for no good reason, and the club haven't done enough about it, even if they did nothing wrong? The shouts, I believe, were that Parry was a Liar, and a Tout - but I suppose 'withholder of information we would like to know' doesn't really raise a crowd, does it.

Oh come on JRC. Its hardly asking him to answer "every Internet myth". This is a widespread and deeply held feeling by too many fans to be dismissed like that.
If there's a reasonable answer lets hear it.
And people don't want to know the breakdown between who had just 6 games and who didn't. They want to know how many tickets were in the ballot, and why the other tickets weren't.
If you are correct that there is a very simple explanation, why won't they tell us.
Do they want the fans to feel **** on? Because if they have an answer that would clear up that sincerely held perception, then to not "play the numbers game" would appear to be a deliberate act of alienating their own support ahead of an important final. Which is idiocy.
Unless there actually is something more sinister at play.
But we won't know that until they break their Omerta, will we.

Totally disagree, I would never not show support for my club. If you want to protest there are effective ways to do it privately.Originally posted by The Glove View Post1) there was a protest. Right in front of me where the houses used tobe at the side of the Kop infact.
2) Chants included:
Get back to the Circus, get back to the Circus, you ****in clown, you ****in clown.
2 lyin *******s, theres only 2 lyin *******s etc
Parry Parry Parry, tout tout tout
You can stick your ****in ballot up your arse
and so on.
3) Out of all the regulars I know going the game through my gate, only 1. Thats 1, got a ticket for Athens.
4) Only 1, thats 1, gumbled about the protest.
5) The whole KOP, thats 12k people joined the chanting directed at Parry.
6) Nearly everyone who went in when the protet was on, said they agreed with it regardless.
7) Charlton are ****.
Before anybody doubts my motives, no, I didn't get a ticket. Yes, I am going to Athens and have paid out a load of money and I'm not going to see the match. But like everbody else on here I knew the risk about not getting a ticket and took it. It was my decision so I'm not going to start whining about it now.
You were right about point 7 though.

The team and the club are two separate entities. I support the team.Originally posted by Tinkerbitch View PostTotally disagree, I would never not show support for my club. If you want to protest there are effective ways to do it privately.

The club on the other hand is a commercial entity who will either treat me well or not as the case may be. I'm all for protesting against the club as long as support is shown for the team.
Otherwise, logic states that the club can do whatever they like and we'll stay pretty much passive, stern letters aside.
If people are being dismissed when requesting the most basic information, then we have every right to protest against those running the club.
I'm still amazed that the club has turned such a harmless request for information into such a political hot potato by saying no. It beggars belief.

I just hope the genuine fans who are there enjoy it nonetheless. Its just a shame that so many have had to pay through the nose.Originally posted by Red_hot View PostThe shines totally been taken off the whole thing now.
I'd say this is the biggest PR disaster at the club that I can ever remember.
Theres either something very fishy going on, or if the answers are straightforward as some have suggested then the club has completely mishandled the supporters concerns.
Either way, whoever is going to Athens, have a bloody good time!!

I don't disagree with you about the request for information, it is a PR disaster. You're also right about the club being a commercial entity who can treat us in whatever way they like, because the reality is that we are not going to support another team, there are no alternatives for us so they have the whip hand.Originally posted by alunevans View PostThe team and the club are two separate entities. However, I will never do anything that can be construed as not supporting my team and to protest in this way will be seized upon as fans not supporting the team, regardless of the intention. Just my opinion and the reason why I didn't join in.
