    It's a mess.
So how would you give 17,000 tickets to 25,000 people then brainbox?

The fault as Sara says is with UEFA who gave a bigger allocation to themselves. Like I say we are all depressed but you take it on the chin and learn. Just don't make the same mistake again.

They seem miffed that there'll be people who cant even go, would've got a ticket, due to the automatic nature of the ballot.

      A protest isnt the answer.

But even a protest probably wouldnt make a difference to our ticket office.

There's rights and wrongs on both sides.

Maybe some of us should've been smarter and got a Gala away. Likewise, a protest is nonsensical.

Having said that, the club COULD improve on a couple of things too.

Lessons to be learnt all round IMO.

Just to re-iterate though, i'm not in favour of a protest!

Oh come on....there's a million and one things wrong with the ticket office. This is just the straw that broke the camel's back.

            It needs sorting out.

You see no logic in getting people to apply and THEN putting them into a ballot?

At least then you've only got people who will DEFINITELY be going.

I'm not sure if that is feasible but I do feel sorry for people who've been to all the home games and missed out.

If anyone is going to sort it out then I expect the new owners will.

Not necessarily, you'll get people applying so they can flog their ticket to the highest bidder.
The only way to do what you're suggesting would be to get people to show a copy of their plane tickets, which is unrealistic.

Oh c'mon. There are loads of people who have applied and got tickets and won't be going. I know at least five. Everyone would still apply whether going or not.

                        Silly argument IMO mate.

I've never seen/found a lot of things, that doesnt negate their existence.

In the thousands who got a ballot ticket, there'll be SOME who cant/wont make the trip to athens, for varying reasons. Maybe they'd booked a holiday already, maybe they cant afford it, maybe they cant get travel or accommodation etc.

To suggest that EVERYONE who got a ticket will go, rather than pass it on to a mate, or sell at a profit, isnt accurate IMO.

I even heard that TO staff got their share, and some of them are apparently rather non plussed at the whole thing. That cant be right.

Not really. Yes, you might get SOME doing what you suggest. But it's still gonna be less than if you just put EVERYONE who has 6 credits into the ballot. That's surely beyond doubt.

I know there's more demand than supply and i accept totally that loads will miss out. I dont doubt that there's plenty more 'loyal' than me, who have gone to more games than me and spent more money - they'll have missed out, and it's disgusting IMO.

All loyalty points should no longer be competition specific, if you've been to 15 league games, even only 3 or 4 CL games and 3 carling cup games, you should get a ticket above someone who only bothered to turn out for the 'glory' games in the CL.
Well that's a load of cod's wallop if you don't mind me saying. People who are guaranteed tickets are those with at least 7 CL games, now consider that we have played PSV, Galatasaray, Bordeux, Barca & Chelsea in the CL. Barca & Chelsea are the only "glory" games in that lot, 4 points max, home & away which is impossible seeing as you wont have got the away tickets, as you won't have the loyalty. So that means people who are guaranteed tickets and have been in the ballot have also been to the crappier games as well. So why the hell should people like you who haven't bothered turning up for the less glamourous CL games get tickets to the final over people who have supported the club throughtout the whole competition?

And please don't give me the tired old "I've had a season ticket since the wheel was invented, and supported the club through thick and thin" line, because the club needs to look after its young and new fans as well, otherwise they will just feck off to another club that gives a rat ar$e about them, and we miss out on the income they generate, that we desperately need for transfers and investment in the playing staff.

Everyone will say they are going and apply for tickets. Who on earth is not going to apply just cos they aren't going when they can flog their ticket on?
