you're at every game lad, why are you ashamed. if i had a ticket i wouldn't feel ashamed because i'm there every week.

its the clubs fault for ensuring that people who are there every week are treated the same as people who never go.

know what you mean though, i saw a car before with a Liverpool in Athens car flag and the first words that came into my head was "**** off". before i even thought about it.

it should have made me smile. it didn't.

i agree its a terrible shame.

Its weird because everyone I speak to, who isnt a regular match goer is well up for it, yet everyone who goes or knows people who go are all a bit deflated by it all and reading Rick Parry in tonights Echo just made it worse. He basically comes across as not giving a **** and thats bang out of order.

Im sure or atleast I hope the mood lifts as we get closer to the game or its gonna be bollocks being out there and I wouldnt be surprised if people without tickets start turning on those who have.

I really hope not. It's not the fans' fault, i dont begrudge anyone a ticket, other than maybe those who only turn up for CL games and stick two fingers up to the less glamourous games. I was there in the pissing rain for Reading in the CC, i made a 225 mile trip to discover the Arsenal tie had been postponed, i was there for the rematch and for the FA Cup tie not 3 days apart, and i've missed just 1 league game at Anfield, so i'm gutted. But no grudges against proper fans who get off their arses to support the side.

that would be horrible. best bet would be to gang together and turn on the touts. then hand the tickets out like free bags of crisps.

i'd hate to see reds having a pop at other reds.

i'd quite like to see loads of people saying sod it though and refusing to pay the touts. it would be a tremendous kick up the arse to uefa and to the club if the stadium was half empty.

it'd certainly get rid of the "oh they'll go anyway" attitude.

i didn't like parry in the echo either. he did make some valid points but i don't see why he's keeping the numbers so close to his chest unless he knows it would ignite more anger, this time directed squarely at the club.

don't know about that mate, he obviously did give a **** hence the two page spread which answered most of the questions well appart from the transparency issue, but like he said they've never done that before so why would they start now, it's not going to change a thing is it. Suppose 3 or 4 k went to corporate types what is anyone going to do about it, it wont change the matter will it. At the end of the day it's a combination of uefa's ****ty ticket structure and the unprecedented demand we had for tickets, sometimes **** happens doesn't it.

The two page spread doesnt mean he cares about fans missing out, it means he knows that if the sh*t hits the fan to the maximum impact, it has negative repercussions for the club and therefore, him.

of course mate, that's why he gave the interview, to cover his own arse , i'm sure everyone thinks these new owners sit over in america messing around with yanky footballs wondering why they're a different shape. If he's not doing his job properly they'll sort it out, they aren't ****ing thick are they. The point is those tickets just like in 2005 were always going to go where they have ended up, so what if he made the whole thing transparent would it change anything, of course not

Yes, i'm sure G&H will sort it, but they've only just 'moved in', it wont happen overnight.

As for Parry, like any company or business, he knows there are certain things he has to do to be seen to be making an effort, in order to keep the customers on-side.

That's fairly obvious. You dont seem to acknowledge it though. Fair enough.

no you seem to subscribe to the idea that he doesn't give a **** about the issues what exactly do people want him to about it I don't understand, he tried for more tickets we didn't get them, he tried to do right for the fans because he probably knew that a portion was going to go to corporates and he was trying to satisfy everyone.

Why does he want to hide things from the fans? Why does he have a problem with transparency? It just makes it look like he has something to hide. If you've done nothing wrong, why not reveal the figures?

You're something of a club 'yes man' arent you?

let's continue this in the other thread it's a pain switching between two threads, as for the transparency why does it make a difference, i'm no yes man but i don't see a point worth fighting over at the moment

Whether it makes a difference or not, refusing it makes them look like they're hiding something. If it makes no difference, why not just reveal the numbers?

Obviously they feel like doing so would have even worse repercussions - why would they feel that, if it was done properly?

Thing is Rick Parry knows the fans are pissed off and all he has to do to stop people having a right go at him and the club is just show what happened with the tickets. If he came clean then no one would have anything to moan about would they? Then everyone can move on and say 'ok Rick fair enough' then thats the end of it. The fact of the matter being he wont do that only adds fuel to the fire doesnt it Morph?

But if it's not something we've ever done before then why do it now on this occasion, it won't achieve diddly squat at the end of the day.

There would be one of three outcomes probably:

The ticket allocations look fair and reasonable - everyone leaves it at that

The ticket allocations look a bit like favouring the corporates - some will have a moan but ultimately realise thats, thats one of the reasons we can afford to the likes of SG at the club and buy new players

The ticket allocations look a lot like favouring the corporates - Everyone starts making protests about how the fans have been poorly treated, taking away from the final and taking away from the buildup because we'll probably end up in the news etc. (my guess is this one)

Let's be honest here, it's not just our club where the allocations happen like this it's all of the top clubs, it's nothing particular to our club it's football in general.
