    Alfonso Alves / Eto'o

Just read this about Alfonso Alves move to barcelona on Setanta sports. So looks like Eto'o will be on his way out. Seems alot of money for Alves when Hereenvenn sold Huntelaar for only 6 million only last year

Huntelaar played for the same team last year and scored the same amount of goals, I seen the guardian tread below and they quoted a value of 8-10 million he has only played one season in holland and before this with Malmo so if an unproven striker costs 25 million How much will Villa Torres and Eto'o cost

it's simply bonkers when clubs can bid £25mil plus for strikers who in all fairness aren't proven at the highest level, i'm really interested to see what we get in the way of strikers in the summer, i have a feeling Rafa is going to pull off some kind of masterstroke, but we'll see

The money that's charged for top class strikers is shocking but they're few and far between these days so the selling club can afford to hold out for as much as they want basically. For Eto'o / Villa I think you'd be talking about €40,000,000 unless either player handed in a transfer request.

Looks like there will be a record broke this summer as someone is going to pay crazy money to get one of the top players, I'll be very surprised if Rafa blows the load on one of these, As seen today with the signing of lucas it always someone you least expect and not throwing crazy money away. Huntelaar or Amauri may be more in line in what toexpect

He always has a gem of a signing that none of us would think.

I'd be happy with Huntelaar if I'm honest.

Has there been anything, anywhere, that has ever linked us with Huntelaar?

I said a long time ago that the top players will cost more than they usually do because all the top clubs have a lot of money.

A top class player that costed £15m last summer will cost £25m+ this summer.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Afonso Alves is one of the best deadball experts I have ever seen. He is Juninho class when it comes down to freekicks and that is worth a lot of money.

One of the lads claimed the Americans met the Ajax directors after the PSV game to talk about a possible deal for him -£12.5 mil was mentioned -we shall have to see. Actually would rather have MO back for £9 million!

Personally I would prefer either of KH or MO rather than players like Torres. Eto'o great tallent but isn't he a bit of a loose cannon -does he have the right "mentality".

my three main targets would be in this order, huntelaar, owen, eto'o......the reasoning is that in my opinion Huntelaar is a clinical finisher with the right mentality, Owen...well everyone knows Owen then Eto'o...my reservations on him are only due to the fact that he has been known to be a loose cannon, I have heard however that this is only because he has a huge desire to win everything.....so maybe combine that hunger with Rafas genius he could work out to be a masterstroke. Lets be fair Id be a happy guy if any 2 outta those 3 came.
