Disagree. Momo rarely gets behind Xabi. He's an AM, Rafa has said so on countless occassions.

what so he's a box to box player who likes to get forward and create goal scoring opportunites

he is a holding midfielder but obviously just a different player than masch, they both do the same job, break up the play and sit in front of the back 4.

      momo an attacking midfielder wtf??

So according to yourself he's an attacking midfielder who's mediocre in possession and who doesn't score.

        He is no longer needed.

No it's because he moves up the field and often assumes an advanced position and doesn't sit infront of the defence. Holding meaning that they hold and don't push up, hence Momo is not a holding player... :whatever:

so gattuso, viera, makelele, cambiasso, gilberto all stay within their own half all game and never ever get forward becasue they are 'holding players' and dont push up???

Nobody is saying a holding mid. never gets forward.

Holding players are there to protect the defense so most of the time sit in front of the back 4. Hamann, Makalele, Carrick, Gilberto to name a few.

Momo plays further up the pitch and breaks up play there and is able to do so because of his ability to cover ground, strength and stamina.

We should not even be discussing this, Rafa has spoken of this countless times.

No, not at all. btw I wouldn't class Gattuso as a holding mid as he gets forward quite a lot too. Vieira is never a DM either, I don't know why so many people label him as that he is bo to box. Anyway, Rafa has always stated that the only "holding" players in our squad are Xabi and Masch. I wouldn't call Sissoko an attacking midfielder because he definitely isn't but it's painfully obvious for me he isn't a midfielder like Hamann, Mash, Makelele, Gilberto, Albelda, Diarra etc. He is more of an Ambrosini, Gattuso, maybe Ledesma to an extent.

                          Momo was once a striker.

I remember that. Rafa signed him as a striker for Valencia
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

he's nothing like gatusso or ambrosini.

one thing for definite is that momo is a defensive minded player as opposed to attacking, maybe not a 'holding midfielder' of your defenition but a defensive midfielder he definitely is.

                              momo is a central midfielder

he's a central midfielder. much like gerrard, only thing is gerrard is a little better going forward . sissoko plays a defensive part up the pitch pressing players braking up play early on, not letting play develop, putting pressure on the playmaker. whilst xabi and mash hold and wait. sit tight don't push forward alot...

we need sissoko for a lot of things, we couldn't have done barca in with out him, he should have played against chelski away...
