Agree, i can definately see Simao coming with Cisse going the other way.
Can anyone tell me what kind of a player Simao is? Is he a dribbler, or a pires sort of player?

I have no doubt Simao will be his replacement.

Speedy isn't that bad mate, and to be honest, him leaving is a bit of a shock to me as I thought Rafa would have given him another chance next year. But this surely is a serious hint as to how we'll deal in the transfer market this summer. We'll be quick and won't pussyfoot around. Rafa wants to challenge IMMEDIATELY, cue his 'taking two steps at a time' quote from yesterday.

I'd liken him to more of a Pires - Ljungberg than a Cristiano Ronaldo.

Sure, as he can stand on it.

The main concern for me is that, as we know, many players can take at least a season to adjust and although gonzalez has been pretty poor he should maybe be given another season. If we bring in 4 or 5 signings who's to say that they'll settle straight away....unless they're english or have already played in the Prem..

Don't you think Siamo will fall in to the Luis Garcia trap, very skilful but too small to be effective in the Premiership?
                      We come not to play.

To be honest, i think the type of winger we need is someone whoc can scare the life of defenders by taking them on. we need a few matchwinners.
i think simao will do well if he's like Pires but i would rather have someone who can beat a few men on his own.

I think though that at some point in the next few seasons if we want to challenge we need to have an overhaul of our attacking players. If it means we have to take a bit of a hit where we are playing people into the team then we have to do it. the aim should be to have a first eleven which is capable of giving us a foundation - which we have: An excellent keeper and back four, three great CMs and two very decent strikers, Gerrard or Pennant on the right, Kewell on the left. Pennant and Kewell and the strikers positions should all be looked on as needing some work.

We need to buy people who are good enough to mean they genuinely improve that team. Anyone who for whatever reason would only be a backup from the current squad should be looked on as possibly worth off loading.

Daniel Alves is more or less a done deal and after what Parry said about Simao then we will probably sign him.

Alves on the right and Simao/Kewell on the left.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
