Maybe you weren't around to remember the Essien thread on KT amoungst others.
The next 3 months are going to be farcical on here. Not even banning AFII will save us.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

How could I forget. People saying that they'd been passed Melwood and seen him coming out. Then he's in talks with the filth and Arsenal. It was a nightmare. Don't get me started on the moment of clarity thread.Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostKinell. Remember the Harry Kewell transfer saga? It's all coming back to me now. That makes sense.Originally posted by kurtangle01 View PostI'll judge if it's been better on the first of September.
I just sometimes think you guys dont realize what a huge change the takeover was. This is something that has not happened for decades.
And reading the Paco interview on .tv, these guys want to change everything about Liverpool FC. They are tired of people not wanting to change.
At the hight of our pass and move era all the players did was play 5 a side in training. And it seems there are people at the club who think Rafa over analyzes things.
In 5 years time, if Rafa stays and we have a new stadium there wont be much left of the Liverpool of old. Only memories.

Tomorrows Times
BenÍtez claimed that Liverpool were in a position to sign “one or two top-class targets for €15 million to 20 million [about £10 million to £14 million] right now”. The identity of the two players was not clear last night, but at least one of them is a winger and Daniel Alves, the Seville wing back, is thought to be out of the equation for now. Gabriel Milito, the Real Zaragoza defender, is a strong possibility, but not such an immediate priority as a wide player.

That suggests that some deals are done...Originally posted by Chris View PostTomorrows Times

HArd to say exactly if there is any tension between Rafa and G&H, I do believe it could be a mixture of Rafa missing out on Distin and loosing the champions league. Harry said the Liverpool offer was genuine and that it had him worried for a bit but deal had just been clinched. May explain why Rafa was a little pissed at all talk and no action.Originally posted by kurtangle01 View PostWhat do you think of his comments today, bazza?
Rafa knows full well if we had more quality and maybe not have missed out on a couple of signings in the past, we could have beaten Milan last night, IMO Rafa knows he tactically had the better of Ancelotti before the cheap goal.
Hicks and Gilett for me have been having a bit of a honeymoon, it remains to see how the operate the club and how quickly they move, the double takeover does concern me, as there will be alot of consulting to do before transfers with two owners. They need to give Rafa a budget and tell him to sign who he sees fit and sell who he sees fit. which I am sure they will. This budget could change depending on saleries, but I guess we can let Rafa look after that ala Wenger if thats what it takes.
G&H have to stop honeymooning and get down to business, it has been a good ride so far, but I get the feeling they have been enjoying it a little bit too much.
Rafa is a man who wants to be known as a legendary manager, I honestly elieve he believes he is the best, or knows he is tactically, the man is obsessed, and i would think it really annoyed him last night that he hasnt had the quality of players that he managerial abilities deserve.
Im sure our new owners are clever enough to realise this, and if they hang around him long enough, they will know what Rafa is about, after all he has been sending them email at 3am to the US in English time.
they will sort him out
