did anyone else notice that carra seemed to injure himself early in the first half?
When he had the mix up with agger in the 2nd it was because he coudn't run properly! I think he was hurt and was hidding it??
two ways of looking at it if so?
1) carra was heroic and battled on?
2) he was being unprofessional and with 3 subs available at that stage, sami should have taken his place?
you can count the bad games carra has had on one hand in the last few years, but wed night was one of them

I think mostly Steve is above that because of who he is. Plus he is one of a handful of players good enough to disprove that theory.Originally posted by enema of the state View PostI'd like to think so but SG probably disproves the theory
I still think this would have brought us nr. 6

I actually think Alonso should take the blameOriginally posted by enema of the state View Post
it shows rafa got the startout tactics exactly right.
you cant legislate for a deflection off somebhody's back but you can try to stamp outh the error that led to it - and that was jc's. there was no way alonso could avoid running in to kaka and giving away the free kick.
Carragher was moving out to close Kaka down all Alonso needed to do was shadow him
We have this nasty habit of giving away soft / needless freekicks in very dangerous positions and paying the price for it
On Wednesday as soon as Milan got that freekick I turned to the Missus and said "Goal" just like I did when the Mancs got a freekick at the league game at Anfield
Yes Milan got a stroke of luck but quality players can always hurt you from deadball situations close to goalBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I think it is VERY unfair to criticise JC or talk of a replacement for him.
How many bad games has he had since Rafa came in? I bet you write the games on a back of a 1st class stamp.
Granted he ****ed up for the first goal by passing straight to Kaka but someone should have been tighter on Kaka then he wouldnt have had a chance on the ball. In fact if you were to point the finger then surely it should have been on Xabi (which i dont by the way) for conceading the foul.
Mistakes happen in games and no more so than the amount of mistakes the mighty Milan defence made. We should have capitalised on the **** ups made by so called world class defenders like Nesta, Maldini and Oddo. We didnt and it cost us. End of story IMO.That's my new book. 'Shut the **** Up, by Dr. Denis Leary'. Patients come in. 'Doctor I-' Shut the **** up! NEXT!! 'Doctor, I've got this-' SHUT THE **** UP!! NEXT! 'He made me feel so much better. He just told me to shut the **** up. Nobody ever told me that before!'

I agree with your sentiment but it's hardly one bad game in 5 years, is it. He had a ****e start to the season and was all over the place like a mad woman's piss until about October.Originally posted by Dalglish View PostWhat a load of balls. We should always try to improve mate, there should not be sentiments ruling our head. I love Carra and he's been a fantastic player for us and long may it continue, but we must improve and IF there is a better one around then he deserves to be looked at.Originally posted by Dalglish View PostWhat a load of balls. I remember when Fergie got shot of Paul Ince and Mark Hughes while they were at their peak for United. Fergie had the balls to do that, and he gave Scholes and the other kids their chance ... The rest is history.

****ing hell
not in my case pal
i've always thought of jamie as more heart than talent.
said it before and i'll say it again:
when a player of jc's standard is a squad player (doing a grand job of filling in all across the back 4) and theres someone of better quality as ist choice centre back - then well be where we want to be.
hes a great lad but he aint no hansen/lawrenson/hughes etc..drunk knows best
