And that simply means Rafa wont stay.
Rafa would have got assurances at his initial meetings about money. If it was as you have outlined he would be gone already.

To me it all just seems as though G&T didn't realize how quickly they needed to get hands-on. They probably thought they could stump up some case and leave everything on auto-pilot. It's become very obvious that Rafa does not concur. He want's them stepping up to the plate and NOW.

You gotta love Rafa, he is an animal.

I think that we will have limited budgets for each summer after this one. However for the investment to work the new owners need us to be competitive and to increase revenue streams - to me this means they need to invest now to reap the rewards later.

Don't forget we have already spent considerable funds on a young Brazilian central midfielder (where we have ample cover) which I can't imagine either the board or Rafa would have sanctioned if it was likely to prevent the signing of genuine first team improvements.

Its that simple. I imagine that behind the scenes the activity is huge and I bet anyone of you guys that by 1 week monday we will be announcing at least 1 MAJOR tfr. Then its all sweetness and light.....****ing media *******s trying to drive a wedge into us again, thats all it is.
(Obviously Rafa has been in a bad mood all week hence the quotes and interviews and as its a quiet time the media have used that to their advantage)
        CHEER UP GUYS!!!
And that'll do for me!!! I cant believe that we have a thread of such gloom based on an article in the Mail of all papers!!1 bloody get a grip all of you!

irish rag sunday world reports rafa as saying (paraphrase) "the americans are nice men - and successful businessmen - but the just don't seem to grasp the urgency of the transfer situation." described himself as being "angry and frustrated"...

In Spain, there is no such thing as "tapping up".

Any player, under contract or not, is free to talk to any other club at any time.

Hence the obscenely over-inflated buy-out clauses.
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

Now something must be seriously wrong to make him do this.

But I would say Rafa's put an awful lot of pressure on himself with his latest outburst. He's made the Yanks look bad publicly and if they turn around and hand over all the cash and in the time frame Rafa wants and we don't challenge for the premiership next season then he may find himself in trouble.
I think you may be right Sammi. the only thing I would say though is, the new owners have admitted themselves they dont expect us to win the league next season, Rafa has obviously been teling them they need sustained progress to win the league and that it is not an over night fix.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Depends what the Yanks have been told. For the amount of cash having to be pumped into the club this summer, there's some serious capital raising that has to be done. With regard to the future funding of players, that won't have happened overnight, or even within the 4 months they've been here. It may be that G & H have previously asked Parry when the capital needs to be available by and he's said August. On the back of that, they may have said that's fine (and Foster will be there then). Maybe Rafa's only just found out that the money won't be released until then, and that's why he's done his nut.

                      None of us know.

I find that unlikely. That would be one major cockup.

Of course my take is only my opinion as none of us actually know whats going on behind the scenes.

however, given all the recent evidnce, ie Rafa quotes, no denial from Parry that there are problems, the emergency meeting on Fridat etc, I think in all probability there were/are serious differences on major policy issues from the senior figures at LFC.

Hopefully this will be sorted out. Rafa was clearly fuming about the manner of the defeat by Milan. He set up a team to beat them and we should have, but overall the players weren't good enough. We dominated but couldn't put Milan away in the first half.

                            Hence these pissed-off-sounding comments.
