Look, time will tell how this turns out.Originally posted by Red Chilli View Postand so does the rest of the world. Great.
When it comes to a contest between the owners and the manager, there is only going to be one loser.
I agree that it is a good rule of thumb not to go public with this sort of stuff.
But maybe there sometimes is no other choice. We dont know what has been going on behind the closed doors.

Any delays on payment can be passed on for a few months,IE:Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostI'm glad someone else can understand that point
If we offer 35 mil for E`to and Barca need the money they can say,we want this player(To another club) but Liverpool can`t give us the money for E`to until August the other club will say ok.

As I said it's not a charity that they run so it's pretty safe to say that they'll want the cash asap. You also run the risk of being gazumped if you leave people waiting.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

I'd be surprised if many transfers were paid in full with money burning a hole in the club's accounts.Originally posted by kurtangle01 View PostAs I said it's not a charity that they run so it's pretty safe to say that they'll want the cash asap. I'd imagine most are paid in installments with money the club is borrowing

I agree with that but if you don't even have someone on hand to sanction the first installment.... You see my point?Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

Surely it doesn't have to be done in person, surely it can be done via phone/fax/email/carrier pigeon?Originally posted by kurtangle01 View PostI agree with that but if you don't even have someone on hand to sanction the first installment.... You see my point?Originally posted by Gordon Brown

Doesn't matter, the thing is our season has finished and he knows from experience if we don't act asap then one of our rivals in the Prem will come along and **** us over for our top targets. I don't exactly know how there can not be someone to 'sign the cheques' at Anfield but it sounds pretty ****ing disturbing to me. Rafa has probably stressed these points before but every ****ing summer the same **** happens and we miss out. This time he's not having any of it, and the fact we lost on Weds has probably just made him more ferocious in putting his point across.Originally posted by Red Chilli View Post
Fair enough if his targets are all in the Premier league/ English leagues.

Trying to put myself in rafas shoes, there are so many reasons for thinking why he would have the outburst he's had, two that spring to mind:
(1)I think he's very aware of his own reputation with not only our fans but worldwide, and obviously proud of it.
I think he can't countenance in his own mind the idea of being also-rans again, BUT also that fans would then start thinking of him as someone who can't deliver the Prem. He's letting us and the wider world know in no uncertain terms that any problems he's had until now or will have in the next few seasons was and will be because of the board level incompetence.
(2) To put it briefly, I believe he looks at himself as the best manager in the world, and is effing fuming because he KNOWS the like of Mourinho, Fergie and top managers of Barca, Madrid (The manager's he effectively sees as his peers) don't have to put up with anything like the amateurishness or indeed, the lack of respect for his abilities/place in the game at lfc board levels.
