I'm no advocate for abuse but Rashid does ask for it every message board he posts on. This has been going on for years. I dont even think hes a LFC supporter.

He tried to sign David Villa from Zaragoza when none of us had ever heard of him and he's now rated in the silly money bracket. That was a good spot.

Same goes for Alves. Yes he's a full-back but he's an attacking player, does his best work in the final third and when he initially tried to sign, he was a virtual unknown.

Like Villa, he's now one of the world's most in-demand players. Another good spot, I'm sure you'll agree.

So by that token he has a good track record of signing top attacking players? Can we stick to those he has signed mate? I don't think his record is great. People say he hasn't had money, well now he has it will be interesting to see who he gets. Malouda is one he wants, I am not impressed. I have a right to express that. One thing is clear though, he will have more pressure on after this summer.

Someone asked who I would buy, well I'd get players who are exciting, who have natural ability and who will add something to the team of grafters we currently have. How many grafters do we actually need?

If I could choose a winger for us I'd go for Nani, Mancini or Quaresmsa if only for their creativity, style and ability to conjure something from nothing. (Off the top of my head)

No you insinuated that as I doubted a "French player" therefore I might think that all of them are sh*te. That's rubbish. What I can say though is that Malouda is no Zidane or Henry, hell he isn't even an Anelka or Pires. Which was my point.

I don't think Quaresma is any more of a risk than Malouda but what I do know is that he is much more talented and will give the fans some excitement, and the team some creativity on the right. All signings are a risk, but hey we are talking wingers here, give me style over graft in that position any day.

Why are you allowed to use the fact that according to rumours/the press Rafa want Malouda in your arguments when you decry others using examples of players we bid for and couldn't afford?

I think we all agree that at least one of the signings this summer need to be a top quality creative player but we probably need to buy in three players to improve our attacking options. These players need to fit into the team ethic and formation that has won Rafa a frankly pathetic two La Liga titles, UEFA cup, Champions league and FA cup.

I think Rafa is playing a dangerous game by overloading the team with hard grafters and workers, we need creativity and we need top quality. There are 2 months left, let's hope he gets them because if he doesn't Parry will have the last laugh.

Now those three, Pires, Anelka and Henry were snapped up by Wenger, as was Viera. All were either unknows or had not been sucessful at other clubs; they were not star players in any sense of the word.

Rafa is world class, but not necessarily world class at signing good attacking players or playing attacking football. He is a world class coach. He hasn't won the league here yet and hasn't looked like doing so in 3 years. That's the acid test isn't it?

i think every manager is vary of him, he fell out with rijkaard with in a matter of months. his attitude is the most worrying thing about him...

Pires cost £7.5M and a great signing by Wenger and a world cup winner. The other two were unknowns and did great at a time when noone knew young French players.

The difference is that Wenger is still doing the same thing today, unlike Rafa he has never cried about money so has less pressure. My thinking is if we are to sign top players, then Malouda would be a strange choice.
