Pongolle £2.6million to RecreativoOriginally posted by wildman View PostI don't think Sissoko will leave plus we didn't get any where near 3-4m for pongolle (1.5M i think). 60 m is still not enough I don't think any way not if we want to put in a serious challenge
Gonzalez £3.5million to BetisJust to be clear I hate Rick Parry with a ****ing passion and no I don't want to talk about it.

A CEO who even thinks about building a new stadium that you can't expand is crazy IMO.
That shows how bad businessman Parry is. I can understand why they thought 60k was what the club could afford but to even consider a stadium that will be 60k forever is crazy.
Parry isn't good enough. I don't care what he did when he started the PL. He hasn't been a good enough CEO for us and that is what counts.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Our new owners thought that too. The first thing they did was to change so we can expand the stadium in the future.Originally posted by desertscouser View PostI actually agree with AFII.
Building a 60k stadium without the possibility of increasing the capacity is so unbelievably half witted that he should be sacked for that alone. Zero ambition, zero foresight and zero clue.
They had to do that so we can compete with Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea in the future. We can't have the same high ticket prices as Arsenal so we will have to compensate that in another way.Just believe and you never know what will happen.

Thank you for taking part.Originally posted by redblood View PostJust did buddy I've made 1 vote between them.

Seriously,
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Well if the nurses say it's footie, surely that's the end of the argument.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostSupport the Nurses thread in general footie section, there site also calls it footie.

their franchises in north america arent the greatest either
i've kept pretty quiet about these two americanos because i wanted to see what they had in mind and whether they would follow through. i was nervous from day one because they are not the type to come in and throw huge amounts of money around.

yeah, and to be honest when they were announced as candidates to buy the club i didn't even know who they were. but i do know their franchises as i've followed all the major sports for most of my life.Originally posted by captainfog View PostWhat's your opinion of them? they strike me as decent honest people, who will put the best interests of the club first- you can see that with the way gillette runs the canadiens.
but like others have said they are in this to make money and they arent exactly flush- they combined their assets to buy the club and already own other franchises. i never thought they would come in and spend big and was surprised by the initial reports of the funds available to rafa. they don't have big piles of cash lying around and have stumped a load of money to buy the club
i dont think they understand what it takes to be successful in football and there will be a learning curve- unfortunately it's coming at a time when buying the right players is vital
people point to the alex rodriguez signing as an example of them splashing hte cash- bollox it was a pub stunt, that signing handcuffed the franchise and they couldn't get any other top players and suffered a few more mediocre seasons before he ****ed off to the yankees
so bottom line, people expecting them to come in and spend spend spend are going to be disapointed i reckon. i think these guys saw an opportunity to milk a sleeping giant, raise its value, and then sell it off.
but who really knows, thats just my gut feeling
