If that were true I think that would be a large improvement on our team last season. We really lacked the balance that a player like Kewell would give us. I think at this stage very few people expect Kewell to manage more than around 20 games a season at best - which frankly isn't good enough.

Who knows, and that is a part of the problem. Is Rafa prepared to make a gamble on Kewell? He may be 100% fit again but no one knows that.

We need a fit and high quality left winger. Kewell is that if he is fit.

A new left winger would need time to adjust to the PL and Rafas tactics. Kewell doesn't need any time. He only need to play games and he will do that in pre-season. We would probably not see the best of a new left winger until January or something like that. Can we afford to wait that long?

Watching Agger on replay now... he is excellent (quality goal) and is stirring **** every chance he gets; causing fouls, earning them, getting in the referee's face, etc. What a match this is so far.

ps any Swedes/Danes like to clear up what the hell happened in their game for it to be abandoned and Sweden awarded 3-0 win even though it was 3-3 at the time?

I`m irish but the game was abandoned in the 92 min after a fan came on and tried to punch the Ref.he blew up in extra time at 3-3 and Fifa gave sweden 3 pts and a 3-0 win,go figure.

Well, he played for an average team (Bayer Leverkusen), and some players flourish when they have better players around him, and he's certainly done that for that match tonight, and playing in a big game.

I'm much more confident that we've got ourselves a good player now.

If I could choose players from todays game it would be Sami Nasri and Frank Ribery.. we only noticed Malouda and Voronin cos we wanted to not because they did much. They are decent players but I don't think will take us to a much higher plane.

I honestly have no idea about Leto - what stage in his development he is even supposedly at. I would prefer a player who has had at least a season at a decent sized club in a strong league but if he has the talent he will change the picture.

I would be a lot ahppier if we signed two experienced attacking midfielders - one for each flank.
