I'm 27 and not that i'm saying no, but football is different these days.
In years gone by, it was far more cyclical and you'd have different teams winning in different decades. Nowadays though, there doesnt seem like any way of breaking into the upper echelons other than if some mad billionaire buys you and backs you to the hilt. In fact, that was even the case, albeit to a lesser monetary degree, with Blackburn in 1995, with the late Jack Walker. Blackburn were the only side to break the Arsenal/Man Utd dominance of that era, and even they only managed it do it surreal spending.
But i remember not that long ago, Norwich City were involved in the title race with Man Utd and although they didnt win it, they ended up having a decent UEFA Cup campaign the following season.
Back in the late 70s, Forest were on top of the world, following briefly by Villa in the 80s. Of course we had our domination too.
But these days, you wont get that kind of diversity and distribution of success. The cliche about the rich getting richer is spot on here, and i fail to see what can stop it turning into a case whereby NOBODY other than United or Chelsea (maybe Arsenal at a push when their kids develop and mature) would win the title in maybe as much as 20 years...unless they get the help of Joe Billionaire. Sounds radical. But i fear it's going more and more down that road. Very predictable sadly.
